As a KSU grad and fan, I'm glad to see Snyder back but I doubt we will ever get to the level that we were at in the late 90s. Also glad to see KU doing well because its makes for fun games and puts the state of Kansas on the map. So don't be hating one each other!

Compared with some of the other forces in the Big 12 - Nebraska, Mizzou, OU, and UT in football; KU in basketball - the Wildcats seem like - ironically - the ultimate underdogs. Yet they've still managed to triumph, and that's probably part of why I'm so fond of them. I'm a Gator, and I cheer for my Gators first, but I'd still love to see K-State win their first national title someday - even in something more "under the radar" like rowing or golf.

KU 7-1 in Big12 - 2007 I think an update would be good. I will admit though that I would LOVE for KU to become as good as K-State was during your glory years.

I will admit that Reesing is the major reason our program has risen but with the Orange Bowl victory Mangino has been able to secure some damn good recruits. Look at what Toben Opurem and Bradley Mcdougald are doing as TRUE freshmen this year. Your right we will miss Reesing a lot next year though.

I'll tell ya i have actually always liked KState...a lot of respect for that program...probably the most respect out of any north team for sure. Plus their fans aren't asholes like Mizzou's and Kansas's are. best of luck on the 7th

@gpciie Good analysis, but remember Colorado was a powerhouse, at the time, also. I might be a little prejudice, but what Snyder has done at Kansas State is the best coaching job, in the history of athletics, at any level. Maybe, what the coach did for the 1980 U.S. hockey team is commendable, but Snyder has done it over a long time.

If im not mistaken in 2006 the NCAA found five major violations including academic fraud had been committed by members of the Jayhawk football program under Mark Mangino.

I didn't realize you were quoting him for something he had said 11 months or more prior to your post (which was probably why even wally seemed confused by what you were saying). I know they didn't win the North last year or this year, and that they weren't in a bowl despite going 6-6.

anyone can say that since last time I checked we were only picked 5th in the north at the begginning of the season...we have the least talent in the big 12 besides baylor...bill snyder took what prince gave him which was almost nothing and made this team into something. If we don't win aganist Nebraska, he at least got us believing in our football team again as now unlike the prince years they at least have discpline and haven't lost games by 40 every week out like last year.

Snyder built that program off of padding schedules for bowl games....that's all he did and then he gets forced out? Then Prince, a hs coach at best signs an extension the same season as they fire him? Terribly ran program, and to that I rest my case.

I just want to every home game that year and KSU shouldn't have won two of those conference games, Ok St and Texas. Actually, they played up to their potential in the blowout to Rutgers. The wild kittens suck and so did Prince, and besides that freshmen qb that team wasn't all freshmen. Schedule some real games, get some respect, quit having players get arrested before bowl games, live up to the next year's hype after winning a big 12 championship, then, maybe KSU will get some respect.
