Originally from Nashville, Tennessee, we got married June 2013 and quickly caught the #travel bug! We started “travel hacking” & finally decided we wanted to travel for one year. After 2 years of saving $ and over 2 million miles and points, we sold our cars and apartment and left home January 10, 2016. We started this #travelvlog to share our experiences with friends and family, then decided we really liked vlogging and traveling! After achieving our new goal of 100 countries before 2020 and all 7 continents, we have no plans to slow down anytime soon, and we are incredibly thankful to do something we love every day. :)

As someone living in a country that's been strictly locked down for over a month this is wild to see. Like, remember when we would walk near other people? And LINE UP RIGHT BESIDE THEM? And touch things that someone else touched just a second ago? So weird to think how much the world has changed that those things stick out to me so much now.

Matthew Boudreau Yes and that means no summer traveling this year unless you want to be responsible in spreading a deadly virus that doesn’t have a vaccine yet. Also pray that our scientists in Germany or similar countries develop it because we know it has to be available for everyone. Unlike the US who tried to buy out most promising vaccine company to have the vaccine only for themselves. Yeah that’s not how you respond to a worldwide pandemic.

John Rodriguez yup. many people have been irresponsible. And fact of a pandemic is that is massively accelerated by travel. The fact people travel more than ever made this a worldwide pandemic in such a short amount of time. I lost a friend to COVID. He’d been traveling to Sweden, California, Florida and then Hawaii because it had been pre-booked all the way until March when it was already very obviously reckless. I canceled a trip to my boyfriend who’s studying in Belgium already in March 3rd because we didn’t want to risk it. And since Germany has closed borders I haven’t seen him since. So many people are irresponsible and only act correct when it’s absolutely mandated by law.

@@8KILLSTEP well to be precise. The Philippines now has reached 100,000 mark cases of covid 19 and within a day we gain 5,000 new cases. The president also threatens the people that if anyone violates the ECQ there will be a shoot to kill order and as you can tell it's a very poor act to make people follow you. Our president also told us that the poor can disinfect their mask using gasoline and he said he was serious. Apparently doing this will lead to dermatitis and other skin diseases or complications for the lungs. The nurses and healthcare workers are in a ratio of 1:15 nurse to patients, 1 nurse and 15 patients. And to cap it all up our health care system have anomalies and it involves a mafia stolen/missing money of about 15 billion pesos and that equates to $305,966,343.70 . Even though we are in the middle of a crisis government officials have the audacity to steal that amount of money from the nation. So all in all everyday it's just getting worst. Also the president's plan is to wait until December when China releases a vaccine what a great plan right?

I used to watch bits and pieces of your videos but have begun to watch them in earnest recently. I appreciate that you show your experience, warts and all, rather than some fictitious version of your trips. That's what really makes us feel connected as viewers, I think. Because I'm watching so many in a row, I've noticed that you often mention when people don't speak English. While it's commonly spoken, it grates a bit to hear it phrased that way. If I'm in another country, I'm the foreigner. If I can't communicate, it's not because they don't speak English. It's because I don't speak Hebrew, or Russian, or Mandarin. If we were in the States, fair enough. But when abroad, we should own our communications skills, or lack thereof.

I did it! I just watched ALL the videos from the very beginning!!! I have watched a few random videos here and there and have made the Everest basecamp a priority on my bucket list. I decided to start the journey from the beginning seeing as I, like the rest of the world are in self-isolation :-) Kara and Nate you have done an amazing job of sharing your travels. I have been streaming the videos on my TV, so hadn't seen many of the comments. I recently went and read a few mostly on Instagram after the NYC series. (I personally don't like Canada Goose and I'm Canadian.Your coats also didn't have fur. I also learned from watching all the videos that Nate researches everything and there must be a valid reason for supporting the company. We all have reasons for what we do and at the end of the day, you stayed warm, created great content, had a sponsor. Let's move on) My thoughts are that you are both standup people and have have handled yourselves very well. This platform is not easy when you are putting yourselves out there and allowing yourself to be vulnerable. Great job. My daughter sat with me and watched a few episodes and said, Mom...Kara reminds me of you.....obviously I'm much older, haha. I love your positivity and openness to trying new adventures and being real and showing it when you aren't as sure. I have so many more ideas now for my next few adventures. Scandanavia was supposed to be September, not sure now. I wasn't as excited until I saw your videos and I will definitely be adding some treehouses and saunas. Sorry this is long....I have 724 videos of comments to make! Stay safe and can't wait to travel.

Of corse, afterwards you always know better. But on March 15 it was hard to predict what was gonna happen. I was supposed to play a very important concert on that exact day and it was canceled very very shortly before. And we were still in a situation where it felt reasonable to be mad because of that canceled concert. It was exactly those days when it started to get really crazy, so I totally understand they did not bother traveling until mid-March...

It’s crazy you filmed this on March 14. I had a flight from JFK back home to Germany only two days earlier, and the security measures were not even close to what the Philippines did. The airport staff wasn’t wearing masks, most of the passengers didn’t wear masks either. There were no hand sanitizer stations, no rules to keep distance in lines. And Trump knew the USA had a problem at this time already, as he banned Europeans from coming to the USA right when we were at the airport to go home. I’m really glad we made it home in time & stayed healthy, seeing the numbers of cases explode only a couple days later.

glad things are ok now and lucky you got the few remaining tickets to fly out.. even then, at airport, in the midst of the crowd and panic, you didnt have a mask and of course social distancing is not in use.... always be safe and of course its easy to say we should take things more serious and let the world take this as a lesson.. we need to take care of each other and respect Earth and its living things and all its beauty.
