One of my favorite things about these current videos is how engaging Nate is. He's almost as chatty as Kara now and I love it! I remember those earlier times when Kara did most of the talking. It's so good to see the evolution, the growth, the confidence. I'm here for this couple and these adventures.

Anyway, now that I've dried my eyes (lol) can I just say that I love watching every single video and thankful I get to see the wild adventures you take. Thank you for making my day better!

We adore you guys! I'm so happy you took a break and felt the love. I can't speak for everyone, but we missed you...however missing you for a few days is way better than you guys getting burnt out and then we'd miss you for much longer. Always take the time you need to fill your cup. Sending love and good juju from Canada. I'd love to see you guys do a Newfoundland trip.I'd offer to be a guide even. Look up Bonavista. My family is from a tiny place called Stock Cove, right on the ocean. Icebergs, whales, lobster and the most loving people. xoxox

We have been up that way a number of times and some of our best nights were right on the ocean. There is a cafe/restaurant there that has the most amazing fresh that day seafood...if you are in to that...as what was mentioned above, the people there are amazing...going back again this spring and hopefully see some icebergs again.

I want to give a special shout-out to Kara! I know the videos challenge Kara and Nate, and Kara has made really clear there’s a lot of things she’s never done before or are really far outside of her comfort zone vs Nate who has some familiarity or it’s been a goal of his. Kara’s experiences take a different level of patience, resilience, and perseverance. So shoutout to her and thank you for inspiring those of us who are exploring things in adulthood! And Kara it’s okay to say no and take a break 💕

I think the fact that you got so emotional reveals two things: 1. How badly you truly needed a break from everything and how much you physically and mentally needed that recharge. 2. How much you truly appreciate what you do. It shows that you don’t take what you have for granted and that’s what is so refreshing about your channel.

@@thorium3737 I was living in the south of Europe a year ago with 40+ C during summer... and realized that I need to live somewhere colder, so packed up the bags, took the kid and husband and bought a house in the North of Sweden. Cold, chap houses and amazing lakes, pines and nature. I would not swap it for the world! I worked 5 years to make it work! I would just advise you do the same. Research a bit, but the houses that far up north cost 30-40K Euro... it's worth the trouble of moving countries for that little money for a two storey house with a big garden in the beautiful nature...🌲🌲🌲

Dear Kara & Nate, I hope this message reaches you: thank you from the bottom of my heart for always putting a smile on my face whenever I’m feeling down or sad and for creating a personal safe space with your amazing content & lovely personalities. As a long-term-fan I’m thrilled to see you grow, succeed and get the recognition you’ve always deserved. Never feel bad for taking a break after literal years and years of hard work. snow caves are the most comfortable way to sleep in -5f and below. well made caves stay a consistent 30-35f degrees. fun thing about snow caves. once you sleep in them once you are good to go for the rest of the season. once it gets one good freeze thaw cycle (sleeping thaw leaving for the day freeze) it essentially becomes a solid ice shell. scout camps where a group fails to make a snow shelter can have the scouts sleep in shelters built at the start of the season.

So interesting seeing this as the Inuit lived in igloos for thousands of years. They would used a qulliq and caribou/seal furs to keep them warm in Arctic temperatures of -60C. Also the igloo would build a layer of ice that would help withstand huge wind storms. Was really cool to see how with modern resources it was still cold inside there. Thank you for sharing!

I have built (or helped build) a few snow shelters on Mount Hood (Oregon). It is amazing how warm they are even after hours of nearly exhausting digging. While our snow is much denser than Colorado's I had no doubt about them being strong enough to support themselves. Indeed, I have usually felt the need to partially destroy them (after use) so that they don't pose a hazard for subsequent visitors.

You two are always surprising me, this video brought back so many memories. My brother, sister and I would build snow forts after the plows would come by. We pretty much lived in them until they melted. So grateful to be back in Florida for the winter months. It’s been in the low 70s since I got here. It took me 8 days of driving to get here from Texas. I was deadlined for three days because of mechanical issues. However it was an awesome trip. I met many wonderful people along the way. Hoping I am able to get a better RV before I go back on the road next season.
