Great video you two as usual.. I want to Chiang Mai in December 2017 and rode a motorcycle around northern Thailand for 3 weeks because of your videos. Also did the flight of the Gibbon and the Elephant Sanctuary because of your adventures.. Now I am heading Back to Chiang Mai on Feb 6, 2019 to spend another 3 weeks on a motorcycle adventure and this time will be in Laos and China. You guys are so inspiring! Oh and I am 60 years old! Congratulations for having two beautiful children! I know that it is far easier for me right now than it is for you, but I am a single father with an eight year old daughter. It was very difficult when my daughter was a baby...and I only have one. My daughter and I are travelling to Chiang Mai next April on our first international trip together. Keep your dreams alive! I am saving all year to take my daughter to experience new adventures each April. 2023 shall be Slovenia; 2024 shall be where the heck Kara and Nate convince us to experience (perhaps India). My biggest expense in travel is lost income from the differential between vacation pay and my typical 40 hours a week of overtime pay. Air fare is almost as great an expense in the red column. Free flights are a life hack that will pay dividends for you! Enjoy your children while they are cuddly, and keep researching your trips. They are just over the next rainbow. I studied languages for the countries that were on my bucket list while I was still changing diapers and child proofing my tiny apartment.

@@KaraandNate If u are still in Thailand u need to go to the USA Embassy either in CM or BKK, it take few weeks to process and get ur passport back by mail. If u travel within Thailand u can ask them at Embassy to ship to any address u want within Thailand. It's almost as quick as ur visa exempt extension if u go at the right time of the day (to get in and out), but processing for them take weeks i'm not sure if there is a speed process if u pay more. Remember that most countries u won't be able to go if u have 2 pages or less left in ur passport, or if ur passport expire in less then 6 months, which probably is not the case... a passport usually last a few years before getting full if u are a traveler (sometime even less, lol!).

We travel only part time due to family and business commitments but it’s absolutely our passion. Not keen on being in front of the camera so our videos have a focus on the places we go and things that we do are rarely feature ourselves. Always looking to connect with like minded people, chat about travel and share tips so if that sounds like your thing get in touch. I feel so conflicted about Thailand. I studied traditional Muay Thai with a Thai master who had moved to the U.K.and he used to tell many stories about good and bad things about Bangkok and outer villages. That was a long time ago but lots of it still valid. Today, I hear all kinds of stories about drugs, prostitution, child exploitation, organised crime and other bad things that I’m not sure I want to go :(

What a beautiful building in Chiang Mai. So glad you found it. From someone who rents apartments for a living, you got a great deal. It's certainly hard to find a beautiful apartment like that in most large cities and towns here in the US. Generally you pay twice that much per month, on average.

The thing I noticed is that Kara and Nate...y'all tend to leave things to the very last minute 😲 I would not advise waiting till you have 1-2 days before the expiry of your visas to head on down to extend it 😣 Especially if your travel plans and stuff are pretty solid; try to make bookings / extensions earlier where possible. Cause these things might not turn out the way you'd like and you might spend more money or time than is necessary. ^^

Hi, There is no need to go Airbnb after say booking initially for 3-4 nights , if you are not looking for luxury,it is very easy to use that time and just get out there and find a perfectly adequate room with aircon for around 15,000 baht ($400)per month and even less if you consider luxury unimportant.
