@@antonerayath8140 i think this is natural. most guys in a martial arts gym will have some bit of competitive nature to them , you also get people who have insecurities or ego issues often. but this is normal. to play fight takes a lot of discipline and self control. it made me admire the sparring in this video and the control they used and their ability to play and have fun.

I always enjoy your sparring but I especially enjoyed you sparring Master Dan and John. I was curious how Taekwondo would do against you. It’s heavy on kicks and your Karate is more balanced between kicks and punches. Plus karate black belts tend to control distances better. Master Dan clearly wanted to stay on the outside with you where John is trained in boxing so he’s more comfortable and appears confident in punching range. Does John have a channel? I already subscribe to Taekwondo Lifestyle. I’d love to see you do some more content with John or Master Dan.

Seth I know you guys do a lot of sparring so you frequently go light, I would like to see you guys put on vest, head gear and cups and go a little harder and actually do a lot of the things you faint, it would show what things are actually effective and what would fold under pressure especially with the threat of being thrown on your back or the how quickly high risk moves can be countered.

I miss training like that. Been to broke to go to a proper gym, and the one I was going to closed down. Not enough business. One of the combos I've been working on for about a year, is doing one of those tornado roundhouse, but to the leg, and then come up top with the straight. I saw my capoeira instructor do that on a tripod bag once and started practicing it. Haven't tried it in sparring yet. Ik you did the linear inside round with the straight in the video. The only thing is distance management. Since I'm not using moving targets, I'm not expecting a backwards movements, cuz that could potentially help my move, but use it to close distance. Kinda fun.

I loved this one. Sparring is suppose to about learning. You guys did a great job. I love the different styles going against each other. My Grandson is in Taekwondo. I get to spare the kids and adults as a Army slash mutt style meaning I have sparred a bunch of styles and never focused on one it is great to learn new things. Seth do you have any videos on point sparring? I promised my grandson I would do a tournament with him when he got his green belt and of course he is a green belt. At 53 I think point sparring is the best for me and I am still learning. With a 30 years gap in training it is funny what you remember without knowing it. Thanks for the video.

@@SenseiSeth, this depends a bit. "Kickboxing" is in some countries, like here in Germany or the UK, a synonym for "American Style Kickboxing". And some of the Organsations, like the WAKO, systemized techniques and combinations to learn and have a belt ranking like in Karate, from "White" to "Black Belt". This is sometimes confusing for people, especially when also "Dutch Kickboxing" is around, which also became popular as its own "martial art/combat sport" (but can differ in the techniques more, depending on your Instructor/Gym).

Great lead leg kicks and surprizingly good Boxing from sensei Seth.... Quite linear motion though, unless I'm not understanding what happened... Impressive how Seth and Icy Mike became almost buddy cops, all those sparrings get the blood pumping, but what about helmets? not the medieval knight kind, the amateur boxing kind. They're unconfortable, but also getting clocked in the face, so its a fair trade imho.

oh have you tried 2 attackers vs 1 defender. Make one exit for the defender to reach before being taken down by the 2 attackers. its super fun if you haven't tried it and a good way to practice

Geezus. Great sparring sensei. How do you manage the head contact? Eventually your gonna get tagged and that adds up to more CTE damage.

Karate is good for self defense as well. I practiced full contact karate but I still need to practice more on my Uke and hiki ugoki- chambering movements.

Try baiting a leg kick with a bladed stance loaded up for a back kick. When they go for the leg kick pop up off the ground about an inch and turn your back looking over your shoulder and cut his motion with a back kick to the liver.

Could you go over that 'anderson silva back leg check"? I thought it was something that only worked in movies. When is it better than a convential Muay Thai check?

Check out Judo in Action : Throwing Techniques. I kept that book from the public library in 1976. I practiced alone and with dummies (duffle bag full of towels) every day as a kid, and continued through adulthood. As a security guard of an office complex I have a lot of free time during my shifts to practice. My devotion to the training and focus has made me what I am today, a can of whoop ass. I could take anyone of you one on one.
