IMO it is absolutely possible to be hit by a car and not have any broken bones. The question really is did he die from being hit by the car? No one brought up the idea it could have been the snowplow hitting him when it plowed the street. This would explain the injuries to John's head, him being pushed 30 feet and missing a shoe. They should've checked the plow to see if there was any evidence such as blood on the plow. Even if it was the snowplow causing the damage doesn't mean the driver of the plow saw John and knew that he was ever hit. I believe this was a horrible investigation.

@@Eye-C-You anything’s possible. But it was up to the Commonwealth to prove that she killed him beyond a reasonable doubt, and there was way too much doubt presented by the defense. Whoever has the better argument, through witnesses and evidence and experts, usually wins-unless the jury is incompetent and incapable of doing its duty, which seems to be the case for this trial. The real blame is also on the police for doing such a bad investigation. A complete embarrassment.

DNA was on the vehicle but she stayed at his house often... it could've gotten on the vehicle at some other point. There was no DNA found on the tail light pieces that supposedly caused the cuts on his arm according to Trooper Paul. "I hit him?" and "I hit him." mean 2 different things. The fact that the EMT and the police on scene that morning never put that in any of their reports. And even Jen McCabe never said the "I hit him." statement until after the grand jury (she never said that since day 1). Carrie Roberts never testified to hearing KR say that. I trust the independent, unbiased reconstructists hired by the federal government over all those other witnesses.

The amount of information for the Jury to process came across as credible and intricate on both sides. If there ever was too much evidence to show a Jury, this was the case. For a retrial, more evidence will be lost to memory.

What a joke the DA’s office is …they wait until trial is over to remove Proctor , they didn’t want to chance it that the jurors might have seen it. LE didn’t do their jobs and so truly no one will ever know the truth. I will never believe all of JO’s injuries were from being hit by a vehicle. If I was a resident of Boston I would be outraged at how much money they wasted on this, and now want to do it again.

Karen is guilty. She may not have acted alone but she is definitely guilty. She said, "I hit him." Why would someone who dropped off the victim and saw John approached the door (John being far away from the rear end of the car) would say "I hit him, I hit him" as a question - a defense made by her lawyer. The "I hit him" was a question And it is very telling for Karen to immediately see John's body by the group of trees. Both Jennifer and Carrie were caught off guard because of the snow. Karen run to John and put her own body on top of him. We've seen this act before. It was to check if the victim is alive or deceased.

Guilty was Never an option with what we all seen presented. I am disappointed they couldn’t come to not guilty verdict. I believe there were conflicts of interest with some jurors. Too bad they couldn’t find enough jurors to do their job. It would be tragic to re-try Karen. I really hope they find out who killed John.

Brian Higgins killed John not Karen Read he did it before Alberts got home and Karen left then he dragged him in yard until everyone left when Brian let Chole out the dog attacked his arm John was unconscious but he died then they staged crime scene

My heart breaks for Mrs O Keefe, absolutely horrendous for her and her family. I noticed Karen Read stared straight at the camera in the courtroom and broke into a triumphant smile, hugging her legal team and family as if this was a ‘win’ for her. It isn’t! All hugging and shaking hands for the cameras….. even her father turned and looked straight the camera before exiting. Such phoney people. I can’t see Mr Jackson doing the next trial. He must have other cases to work on and I doubt Karen Read will be able to afford his services for another year or so. Am I the only person who in a neutral position who honesty thinks that the fan club outside the courthouse and more particularly that Rita woman, are actually harming this case? I don’t believe in the long run these people are doing Karen Read any favours. In my opinion she should ditch the cult and her celebrity type behaviour and be more respectful. This is not a victory for Karen Read and her team, no matter how they’ve tried to portray it to be. 🙏🏼

Just a few feet away and In total contrast I also watched another woman smiling at the cameras, shaking hands and acting jubilant with her team of lawyers and family. Totally oblivious to the quiet old lady sat motionless weeping her heart out. My god, you’d have to have a swinging brick in your chest, instead of a heart, to behave the way Karen Read and her entourage did. As an outsider looking in, I honestly believe this behaviour will backfire on Karen Read. Decent people don’t act like that.
