One of the multitude of things in this trial that really burns my biscuits is the texts about the kids. Those texts did not need to be read in open court where those kids will hear it 😢there could have been a different way. Also, most people that have kids often say they wish they had more private time together. People who have never had kids and suddenly are basically a co-parent probably do have some frustration, anger, etc but that doesn't mean they don't care for or even love the kids. It just means their life changed, it's probably more chaotic than they expected and they miss the abundance of one on one time with their partner. All valid feelings that the kids do not need to know about.

Not only are they testifying to this but they don't seem ashamed at all. If I so much as think about drinking anything I refuse to drive for at least 8 hours. I don't think that's a much to ask, really. And it doesn't get rid of any of the actual evidence that we've seen - we have evidence that the McCabes and Alberts and Higgins covered up a crime, and we have evidence that Karen Read was jealous one night and then, after getting called crazy by her boyfriend, flirted with someone else via text... the horror.

How much trust should we put into the texts is what the jury must have been asking themselves after all that. Clearly all these drunk driving law enforcement officials think laws do not apply to them. I look forward to the expert testimony!

Should have asked the tango if he was involved in “rehousing” the dog that conveniently disappeared. After that ask if (he is aware) his agency has a reputation for shooting dogs. It would be objected to, but the jury would have heard it.

Side note / semi-thought-out-observation: whenever I hear about US cops dying, whether while on duty or not, it seems like that's a big deal and is handled with a special level of respect and dignity.. and any investigations into their deaths are prioritised (hard to find the right words to describe what I mean, but you know, they take it as seriously as it can get, being one of their own). I don't get that feeling at all here. It's like the opposite was done investigation wise, and all the witnesses for the prosecution are testifying against Karen as if they know for certain she is responsible. How would they know if nobody saw it, and they all heard different variations of what is being portrayed as a confession?

@@belemnona Right at the end we heard Higgins admit to being in the sally-port not long before Karen Read's car arrived and had the mysteriously lost tail light discovered... including the fact that the security footage for that time period was completely lost. @shannongriswold80605 ай бұрын
So true. I’ve heard this mentality called, “back the blue” or “blue line” or “brothers in blue.” All of our police officers in the US have dark blue uniforms. When it’s said to “don’t cross the blue line,” that means police officers don’t snitch on other police officers, they backup and support their own no matter what. Which is one of the many reasons we have such a massive problem with police corruption because the good guys keep their mouth shut, move stations, or become corrupt themselves. Police officers are also referred to as a brotherhood and so when something happens to a fellow police officer it becomes highest priority, like something personally happening to your immediate family. Police respond in high numbers to emergency situations which involve a fellow officer being injured or killed. Mentality amongst police in the US is to protect their own above all else. With this case, something happened in that house that created a situation that these two police families decided to cover for someone or multiple people. Fellow police officers also backed the blue line, not the victim, but the living fellow officers because they have some involvement in the death of JO. There is so much missing information, missing videos, destroyed phones, butt dials, corroborated stories, etc. It definitely looks like a corruption case and many police were involved. Rarely does this see the light of day which is why I believe many our so enthralled with this case. We’re all hoping for justice and exposure of all the corruption.

Anyone who has ever worked for the federal government, knows damn well that it’s a federal crime to use government resources for personal use. Fraud, waste and abuse is a big issue as a federal employee. We get training on it all the time. Saying he didn’t know, is a lie! His career is over or he will be forced to retire.

I'm currently at the texts coming in, and oh god does this guy have negative game. Karen is considering breaking up and hints that she's on a break with John, she teases him in a friendly way, plays coy a bunch, and even repeatedly directly asks "what do you want?", and his response is "stop being so sensitive"?! Like dude, she wanted you to smooth talk her, to tell her about your fantasies, to be romantic or make her feel attractive. Yet instead you tell her to stop and neg her over the way she's flirting. Also, these text tell me that KR had some doubts about the relationship a few weeks before the incident. But there is no hint of animosity, just of exhaustion and doubt of if this is what she wants out of a relationship. She was exploring her options, and the option of this guy wasn't happening, because he's as dense as a brick and incapable of taking her hints. You can tell that she wanted to give him a few shots, to see if he could work. And that those shots fell on deaf ears, that she started to figure they were incompatible, and that she started to be less flirtatious and more "he's a friend with whom I can talk through my feelings" territory. And if anything, the one who's frustrated is this dude. I also really didn't like the "I was thinking that maybe she was weaponizing me against John". It's out of left field for me, and I don't get the thought process unless you try to fish for nefarious intent in hindsight. So saying it like your were thinking that in the moment just sounds off to me. But that might just be because I really don't think I'd ever think of that possibility. Edit: I might add more here if my thoughts change after they're all in or on cross. But at like page 62 I just felt like I needed to write out what I was thinking.
@deaj84505 ай бұрын
He may even have less game than me which would be like weapons grade radioactive levels of negative game. It's impressive, I'm completely hopeless so I'm amazed to see someone equally terrible at it.
@DyslecticAttack5 ай бұрын
@@deaj8450 don't worry too much about it, I'm similar too. Got a low EQ and not exactly the most experience with flirting over text, so I have practically no game in most situations. But hell, even I could pick up on the intent past the "I think you're hot" text. Before that text it seemed friendly and bantering more so than flirting, with him being extremely engaged yet afraid to do anything. After that text however, even I could see the blatant prompts of "come on, be assertive. Take the lead" to him. Even going so far as to blatantly state "what do you want" when the mood was flirtatious and when sexual encounters were implied to be on the table. Yet the dude ruined the mood again and again, and not out of "I don't want to play games/I don't have the energy for this" but out of "I don't know what you want".
