I bought a medium which can be added to acrylic paint to use as a spray without diluting the color which sometimes happens if you use just water. Edit great idea about using masking tape for negative painting. I recently watched a video where the artist used curved tape instead of plain masking tape. Made great circular designs. Now, I'm on the lookout for this kind of tape. With the fabric cover, you could have cut a piece of fabric larger than the book, then glued the excess to the inside of the covers to protect the edges.

I so need some of those bobbles lol, they are fabulous. Loved all the techniques you showed, I have used one or two of them in the past. Have you ever thought of using wallpaper, I know I have, you get some great ones for backgrounds and some cuties to cut out of others. A bit difficult to stick down cos it's so thick, but I use just ordinary white glue and never had a problem, plus you could make a whole journal out of wallpaper and use it for your art, and the best bit is, it's used to all the wet media and you can throw anything at it. Tfs xo

I’ve been struggling with the collage process and found that all purpose glue mixed with some water works better than the medium. A lot less expensive too, an added plus. My paper still warps even though I bought some 140 pound water colour paper. I’ll try the boards next.

Sometimes my "art" puts a whole new meaning to "junk journals" but now I'm going in and gesso, duct tape, mask tape, spray paint, etc and create some "Karen" inspired art pages. Love this series of videos but then again I'm a HUGE Awesome Art School fan/student. hugs

Not typically! But I'm also not at all precious about my work. I just get right in there and go for it!!

Yup, you do get right in there and just do it. It’s harder when you’re just learning to draw faces. It’s such a slow process lol. You slow yourself down for us, but still I have to stop and rerun the video lots!

When you use Duct Tape do you find the paint not wanting to stick? My Duct Tape has a funny feel to it, so I'm worried paint won't stick. Matte Medium over the Duct Tape to make it paintable? Or is the type of Duct Tape you use not as greasy/glossy as mine?

Mine is greasy/glossy. I ignore it and just paint over it anyways!! Yes, you can totally put down matte medium first if you want to! I always know that I'm going to seal over it so that's enough assurance for me, but (especially if you aren't going to seal over it) the matte medium would be a good idea. Great question!
