My family relocated to Gaborone, Botswana in 2017. We lived in California. Our only regret is that we hadn’t done it sooner. Why as Black Americans are always complaining about how we are so mistreated by White people. I Recognize that the institution of slavery just caused black folk to have a codependent of their colonial masters. I had the opportunity to travel to every continent except Antarctica. But I am most happy in my continent Africa. We are the majority. we run the nation we develop our own destiny. When I see white people I look at them as suspect. I Formally taught African-American studies at a private university, public Middle school and in public elementary school. I also taught them the principles of Nguzo Saba. We pledged the Red, black and green. I also Use Claude Anderson’s book “black labor white wealth” as a teaching text. So I am all in my blackness. Stop the complaining we need you here, Helping us to build a continent. F the USA. Join us there’s no more excuses. Oh my doctors black and my attorneys are black….even the police who Don’t kill us.

If you have not seen this documentary on Netflix, what are you waiting for? Mr. Robinson has spoke on this for years. Excellent talks from him are also on YT. We need this history because America is trying very hard to rewrite (or perhaps, re-white) it's history again. "Who controls the past controls the future. Who controls the present controls the past.". ― George Orwell, 1984. Thanks once again, Professor Hunter!

Good Tuesday morning Prof Hunter. I know the stars are aligning when I see the trail of intellects aligning to give Us our nourishment. The day you turned on your mic and had the live conversation during COVID with Dr. Carr, to this very day, let’s me realize all that was covered deep is being uncovered. In real time, from my mentors Dr. Ben and Dr. Clarke, who as you know can’t be separated. Like we were almost forced to do with Dr. Dubois and Washington back then . We know and realize with Prof Kaba , Dr. Carr, Dr. Imhotep, Dr. Jackson, Dr. Chancellor Williams, Dr. Lionel Hansberry , Dr. Asa Hilliard, the most incredibly important beginnings after being turned down by the French PhD board 4 times, for his “Afrika the origin of man” Dr. Cheiop Anta Diop. I found Mr. Robinson while connecting these dots with research about the Truth of who and where we in the west became . Prof Hunter, knnartive knubia In class with Carr, working with Dr. Winters . Rest gently Dr. Rashidi, looking at Us all over the globe the pieces connecting, becoming who we are and amazing amazingly brilliant people.

Oh my doctors black and my attorneys are black….even the police are black and Don’t kill us.

The rule of officers being unable to kneel on someone’s neck is great, for sure. But, I agree too- that’s not going to fix the larger problem. Reform is needed! 🎯

We knew, yet we really refuse to look and study because it seems too painful. However we must do all the heavy lifting. It is the only way to fix things. Four hundred plus years of trauma must be rectified.

Rene Descartes' "Discourse on the Method", Plato's "Republic", and Carter G. Woodson's "Miseducation of the Negro" were the eye openers for me. King's "Letter from a Birmingham Jail" solidified it.

Why try to repair something unfixable? Especially when we as black people dont have the numbers to do it alone. We would need a huge coalition of people to first to admit it needs fixing

I agree with most of what the guest said, including holding all (including ourselves) accountable. However, letting those teachers who should have been educators off light... is not it. Ignorance is not a sufficient defense (in any court) and the consequences don't care. Misleading the flock has consequences.

I'm sorta in the camp with Sista Karen: Said another way, I'm convinced that humanity is on a suicide mission.. Sure, we can blame corruption, institutions, etc. But none of this continues without the consent, implicit or explicit, and WE, the ones that DON'T have our hands on the levers of power, keeps the system going..🤔

The Jews have Hebrew School. Our current school system is for the European American. We, African Americans need a school for our children. How about black history classes weekly in the black churches. I too at 69 have learned more from Dr. Carr than I ever imagined. But, our children need to know. I wouldn’t mind donating towards the electric and a snack for our children if the brothers/sisters would donate their time weekly to go into the neighborhood church to teach our children. And, it may contribute to less crime. Idle minds…………

I'm going on my history and my family history, none of my family grandparents, aunties, or uncles ever spoke on slavery but they did speak about how they were treated by white people in South Carolina and Virginia and I have people in my family who lived to be in their 90s to 103 and passed in the 70s and early 80s. I just remember the slave narrative being pushed when the book and movie Roots came out and I was born in 61and one of my favorite subjects in school was history and I went to an all-black school in Milwaukee. My grandmother told me her grandmother was Iroquois and she was very dark I'm not saying slavery didn't happen but I have a lot of questions and seeking answers.

Mjadala mkubwa (great discussion)! First, Black people in the United States should drop the term 'Black American' and pick an African (Bantu) name for the (collective) group, e.g., Maboma ('many villages' < Kiswahili). The "Black American" term does nothing to denote that the associated person is of African origin. In fact, the term "Black American" sounds like someone who is classified as an appendage culturally , ethnically and philosophically to the American, the name that the white colonizers, who founded the eventual United States, gave themselves. Second, develop an Africa linkage/engagement plan. Just thinking outside the box from a Bantu passing by.
