Look into a water softener. I just got one because my water was really hard and my hair was dry and breaking off from the water in my new home. Eyes red after showers. Appliances had water stains, toilets with red rings. My hair behaves now, my skin is soft And no longer day etc. it’s worth The investment imo.

Oh my, I can identify with what you're saying. I moved to Delaware 5-yrs ago and the water here is so hard and it's affecting my hair and skin and my toilet's , tub's and sinks also suffers for it. I always find myself explaining to guest about the stains around places where water runs. Thank you for all of the great advice and you are gorgeous❤️

Thank you so much April! I forgot to mention that my skin has gotten itchy too! When I get that water filter I will let you know if it makes a difference in my hair and skin. I'm pretty certain it will. I couldn't imagine dealing with this for 5 years. I'm sorry you are going though that.

I live in Delaware too and the water is horrible. When I moved to my house two years ago my hair was breaking off like nobodies business. I got a water softener 4 weeks and the shedding has drastically decreased.

@@Crystal_curls85 I've been doing a lot of research on solutions and I'm still undecided here. Because it's pretty pricey to soften the water. For now I'm taking the less expensive way around this and using water filters in the showers and kitchen. Because the water is so bad here I'm replacing the filters every four months or so well in my bathroom that is. In the guest baths not so much.... ugh and I'm replacing shower liners in the master bath every month. I have to do the math to see if it's cheaper. Sorry for such a long comment/vent lol

No problem, it’s quite alright lol I tried filters as well. It didn’t work for me but hopefully you have much more success. The front of my hair broke off way too much so I said forget these filters I’m getting the softener. I need my hair lol 😁

These doctors are terrible- they be saying anything!! They Just dismissing anything you think or say - instead of saying I don’t know we never researched that or studied that in school - geez I used to work in a docs office I was a certified medical assistant. Ccchhiille they don’t even want to take the time to listen to you - only your $ rings & the insurance companies control them & make them see pts every 15 minutes for a 7 hour shift - so go with Ms. Karen’s advice - it can’t hurt nothing. Hi Miss Karen, I’m in your class,😊. I live in a 72 year old apartment building, of course these are old water pipes with plenty of nasty buildup, I don’t drink it or cook with it. My question is what shower filter do you use? I am using distilled water to rinse my hair, but the other class members might want to know as well. Thank you 😊

Hello Miss Karen. I think my hair has been damaged by hard water as well. The thing I rent so I don't want to change the shower head. Can I boil the water before to remove the chemicals, will boiling water makenot softer?
@KarenofCurlHouse
@KarenofCurlHouse 6 ай бұрын
Hey there! Yes, it does remove bacteria from the water, but the water will still contain some contaminants like heavy metals. I understand you rent and don't want to spend alot of money (if any), but this is one I use and it works very and its reasonably priced -- and its just an attachment to that you can put over your existing faucet. I need help! I'm loosing enormous amount of hair all over a scalp after a salon based chemical straightening. Shedding since 6 months now. I suspect the chemical was really harsh and they didn't wash it out of my head properly. My hair were heat damaged. Please suggest something! Anyone you came accross suffered this much
@KarenofCurlHouse
@KarenofCurlHouse Жыл бұрын
Hi Kriti! I am so sorry you are dealing with extreme shedding. If it is in fact shedding due to chemical processing, then the first thing you need to do a PROTEIN TREATMENT. I recommend Aphogee 2 step treatment. So its a liquid first then a followup moisturizing conditioner. You can get it from any Sallys, beauty supply or online. Secondly, if its not due to a chemical process, you may want to consider your stress levels. Elevated stress can certainly cause telogen effluvium -- hair loss due to stress and other things, so please consider this. Hope this helps!

@@KarenofCurlHouse thanks so much. Actually the hairfall startes immediately after the chemical straightening. They wash out the chemical properly out of my head and my hair got damaged. No scalp burn. My dermatologist said no to any treatment and recommend using minoxidil.

@@KarenofCurlHouse it's hairfall. No breakage 😶that's y I'm wondering
@KarenofCurlHouse
@KarenofCurlHouse Жыл бұрын
@@kritikohli5466 I am not a big fan of minoxidil especially if chemical damage is the cause of hair. Once you start using minoxidil, you have to keep using it. Chemical damage is a breakdown of the protein structure of your hair. which is why protein treatments are most important for this type of hair fall. if the root cause is topical, then treat it topically. Also, are you using other products designed for hair strengthening? If Its easier, free feel to followup via email at info@curlhouse.com
