Yes - he is the greatest vocalist ever. Not 'once in a generation' or 'in a century' but anywhere - any time. Yes, given he had somewhat of a genetic 'leg up' with both parents well regarded singers in Kazakhstan, but he has also been engaged in Olympic Gold Standard Level Vocal training '( hours per day - every day,) since the age of 5 across every genre of music, and he is now 29. So, yes, he has a huge and well 'built' toolkit to choose from. For others, particularly here in the 'Western World' that might sound very onerous, even borderline child abuse! But for Dimash, Yes, he's somewhat of a perfectionist, but he lives and breaths music. Aside from his formal hours of training, people around him say he never STOPS singing, humming, vocalising, composing - probably also in his sleep!

The English translation being displayed is not the lyrics of the Tamaki Koji song, but the lyrics of the Chinese version which he initially sang on the 2017 The Singer show. What Dimash is conveying is the Japanese nuance and feeling of the original composition, not the Chinese translation. I am fluent in Japanese, and his mastery of Japanese nuance is superb. ALL my Japanese friends are blown away by his performance.

I am Japanese and I have to say that his Japanese is very close to perfect! And I have to add here the translation of the original Japanese lyrics that Dimash is singing... this English, I understand that it is not translation but it is too far from original. Here is IKANAIDE : Nothing I can't see anything For a long time I have been crying not because of the sadness but because of the happiness of touching your warmth Ah... Please don't go, please don't go Please never let us be apart Ah... Please don't go, please don't go, let's stay as we are Someday Someday the heart will be somewhere far away and everything will become a memory though it's better not to know though it's better not to know Ah... Please don't go, please don't go Whatever happens, please do not let us be separated Ah... Please don't go, please don't go, let's stay as we are Ah... Please don't go, please don't go Please never let us be apart Ah... Please don't go, please don't go, let's stay as we are

Thank you for noticing and appreciating Dimash‘s ability to choose so many aspects of sound to convey the lyrics and evoke the emotion of the song. I think that some people misunderstand some of the notes he sings as Dimash showing off. However, if you have watched some of his interviews and documentaries them you would understand his desire to be true to the song. Additionally, if you, as a singer, had Dimash‘s mastery and range, could you really choose not to use it when you feel certain notes convey the emotion or bring the audience to a certain place? Dimash has worked incredibly hard and continues to learn - it‘s what he enjoys!

From what I have read over the years, the Tokyo Jazz Festival requires a live performance and sent their own film crew to film the entries in no more than 2 takes. This was during Covid so the performances could not be live in Tokyo. So he was definitely not lip syncing during this song. He is just that good! Thanks for a thoughtful and interesting reaction even though the wrong lyrics were a distraction.

Check out Samaltau 2020 Tokyo Jazz Fest. Filmed at home during Covid. It's a traditional song. Two musicians each on a traditional instrument. Dimash cross legged on a stool. And of course a slight music backing track. But it's just him and those instruments. It would be nice if you listened to the complete work then analyze. Just so you and your listeners can experience the song in its full context. Your natural expressions are reaction enough. Dimash just leaves us in awe.

Dimash sings some songs without going crazy. quaragym-ai or Amanat, are gently and so heartfelt, that they are really beautiful. .incidentally, at his recent concerts, Dimash sings the Autumn Strong lyrics for the first half of the song and Ikenaide as the second half. I think you might like the Autumn Strong version at the Kiev concert as he does something very different at the end.

I'm glad you mentioned the tenor notes. Mostly professionals don't pay attention to it, but I don't understand why. Are there any singers (other than professional operatic tenors) who sing with a natural chest voice in the fourth and fifth octaves? I dont think so . The same thing happens during the reaction of Sos, no one mentions the perfect B4, but this note is high for any tenor and is very difficult to sing with full resonance. As for this song, once again it is clear that he is the most versatile singer I have ever seen, such a perfect vocal and technical performance is simply incredible. From classical vocals to contemporary techniques, everything is excellent, not to mention his appassionato.

The way I found to celebrate the majesty of Dimash's talent was to have written the following about him: If I were to rule the world, I would immediately add, to the universal declaration of human rights, another article (they would become 31) whose wording would next "All human beings have the right, at least once in their lives, to hear Dimash sing". I am a Professor and I believe that I have a special profession that allows me to transform the human heart and consequently the human society. I work with young people and young people need to have good references. I had been looking for someone for a long time, of whom I could speak to the young people I work with, as a good reference. That person should be young, a super talent, a super mega star in the art world and above all, because he is the most important, a good human person. I searched and never found anyone with these characteristics. Until, finally, I found this person and that person is Dimash. I had the opportunity to say this to Dimash, personally, when I was with him in Latvia where I went, coming from Portugal (there are 8000 km round trip), on the 7th of March 2020. With friendship Rui Baptista

Great analysis although it's a shame that you didn't use the proper version on Dimash's channel which has the proper translation in the subtitles. Apparently this uploader (I won't use the word fan as no true fan of Dimash would take views away from his own channel) took extreme liberties with the lyrics.
@Snarky_Tart
@Snarky_Tart Жыл бұрын
Thank you for saying it. This uploader has been directly confronted a few times with how offensive and misleading it is with what she does to Dimash's videos. She doesn't care. With each song she imposes her simplistic A-B-A-B rhyme scheme onto arguably some of the greatest lyric poets in the world, and she imposes her own overwrought gothic romance novel interpretation onto arguably one of the greatest interpretive singers in the world. (Of course I wasn't quite as confrontational as that in attempting to persuade her to stop. But I don't care about her feelings anymore.) She argued that she makes it clear in her descriptions that the meaning of her "poetry" isn't a translation and that it has no connection to the meaning of the original lyrics. As she was informed, reactors/analysts are provably misled into assuming otherwise. She doesn't care. I'm glad to see that you're offended by it also. For years I've felt like the lone stranger with this opinion ❤

Dimash CAN do everything, Sir. lol. Dimash sings in several different languages from everything from Opera to Rap. He is not only a wonderful singer, musician, and actor, but he is also an ambassador for peace. His humanitarian efforts have helped people around the world with the proceeds he makes from his concerts. Many of his songs have a real life story behind them. He is a "Bard" with an extraordinary talent.

This beautiful and emotional song by Koji Tamaki was masterfully performed by Dimash at the 20th Tokyo Festival, in perfect Japanese. Thank you for disseminating and analyzing the work of Dimash, who very deservedly has the title of "best vocalist in the world."
