This was the best show I’ve ever seen. It was so refreshing to see a naturally funny guy who just didn’t care. Every episode was us laughing crying. Perfect show 😂

Karl was already a producer on XFM. It was once Ricky and Steven came back to XFM for the second time that Karl was assigned as their producer. Once he spoke... well the rest is history.

By the way, you blokes posed the question, why do you think people love Karl so much and the idea of him being basic was an answer. I think what makes him so likable is regardless of whether he says something that could be construed as ignorant or offensive... it never comes from meanness or maliciousness! You can just tell whether someone is saying something to hurt another and Karl doesn't have a mean bone in his body. What a good egg! (That and he so frequently comes up with an oddball take on something that is simultaneously ridiculous... and RIGHT!
@Chris180Z3 жыл бұрын
Brace yourself for the Pilkington army incoming 😂. I also listen to old XFM shows and podcasts regularly too when out driving (better than most radio shows on now) and around the house etc. Maybe react to a full idiot abroad episode if there is one you guys haven't seen before? Maybe cut some bits out to shorten the video or make it 2 parts?

I know it's a tired truism, but Karl is like an American standup comedian. People say UK comedians are "above" the audience (think Jimmy Carr), while a lot of the best American comedy happens when the comedians themselves aren't *in* on the joke (of course they are, they wrote it themselves, but the act frames them as not in on it). Karl is the protagonist of a classic American setup to a joke, like "so my dumbass walked into a bar" or whatever.
