Chorus? I can't imagine clean arpeggio accompainments without chorus. It gives them darkness and depth.

My picks are overdrive/distortion/fuzz (depends on what kind of sound you want), phaser, flanger, delay, wah

Nice video Karl! 🤘🏻I agree with your suggestions and most of all with the compressor and if it wasn’t for the space on the pedalboard I would use the Keeley Compressor! It has a lot of features and it does a nice job in boosting the signal! 👍🏻👌🏻

Another cracking vid Karl. Always entertaining AND informative. However..I use a TC Electronic Polytune Clip which I think looks very cool clipped to the headstock. Viking tech always rocks :)
@Karlgolden6 жыл бұрын
Thank you. The headstock tuners are so handy in practicing and jams for sure man have to say \m/

Wah, overdrive, delay, phaser/chorus and last is a tuner/looper. My opinion of course =)

Nice mooer commercial. Pretty good budget pedals though

Never played them before thought they were very cool. Not a sponsored video by the way! Musicians gets paid for stuff....don't make me laugh!!

Well this was better than a paid advertisement. Nice demonstration. I’ll stick with my overpriced boutique pedals though

This is just a big ad for the brand Mooer.
@Karlgolden5 жыл бұрын
I wasn’t paid to do this! I was testing loads of Mooer pedals and wanted to do this video but of course it has lots of Mooer but I don’t see the issue if you are interested in purchasing one of their pedals

@@Karlgolden Whether you intend to or not, specifically limiting your choice on a video titled "Essential types of pedals" to a specific brand and calling that brand out by name, influences your instructional video. Why should I check out Mooer over, say, TC Electronics or Amoon or any of the boutique mini pedal brands on the market?
@Karlgolden5 жыл бұрын
Kaffeinefix I get what your saying but this video was just intended to show the types of pedals that are essential in terms of a ‘delay, ‘reverb, ect just generic. I don’t own many pedals to do more varied choice

@@Karlgolden Okay, I see. In that case I hope you're able to do a more comprehensive video in the future that will explain not just which pedals are important and why, but some of the key offerings (e.i. tube screamer vs. Boss' Overdrive vs TC Electronics mojomojo. I DO like the fact that you're emphasizing mini pedals, but you don't cover what is being sacrificed (if anything). How does it hold up in the studio? Onstage? On tour? A comprehensive pedal board takes up space in a van and on an airplane. And mini pedals have more sensitive electronics. If you finally get that big gig do you want to trust a key effect to a box because it was smaller? (this is just questions I have for mini pedals, which seems to be what you're emphasizing in this video) And does the brand you specifically mention address any of that? I'm saying that due to lack of specifics, and the only specific positive being a brand you mention multiple times.....it seems like a big plug for them.

You don't know if you can trust the wisdom/advice of a moore sponsored demo-Ad. Maybe, maybe not - who knows!? Conflict of interest. I don't blame the utubers - i would 100% do the same if i were utube popular..... And I dont even blame the advertisers, they're doing a job ( i very nearly worked in Advertising, so...). Also, they make better quality videos - and more of them - possible. But still. I cant take all this advice to the bank. So sadly, videos like this one, are effectively useless . For me. 🤨 🤔Otherwise, great video! 🤭 (sorry.)
@Karlgolden5 жыл бұрын
It’s not Mooer sponsored! I didn’t get paid and quite a few people are missing what the video is about but that’s probably my fault in delivery it’s more about the type of pedals that are most useful as in a compressor, delay ect not the type
@Karlgolden5 жыл бұрын
Going to take the video down as a few ppl have said the same and it wasn’t supposed to come across as an ad for Mooer
