They had a strong cast. As soon as I saw Julian McMahon appear I immediately knew he was not going to be good. He is a great actor at being a bad guy. Did it on the WB Charmed series. Was Dr. Doom in the Fantastic Four. Now placed as evil in Marvel's Runaways. I hope he gets more evil roles in the near future.

They completely destroyed Karolina in this show. Her Majesdanian ancestry and history was completely erased, her relationship with Xavin was ignored, her powers are nerfed and weaker than her comic version, and on top of that they made HER the traitor in the show instead of Alex. Karolina deserved better than the two dunce showrunners that called themselves "fans" of the original comic book.

Karolina never was raised in a religion called the "Church of Gibborim," she never had a father named Jonah, she never got with Nico at first, and she never betrayed the team in the comics. Karolina was the traitor in this show, she chose to be selfish, to go behind the others' back and lie for weeks, and sided with her psychopath father who tried ending the world multiple times (and even PROTECTED him at times) for nearly all of S2, just like Alex did with HIS parents in the comics. Karolina is a compassionate, selfless, and loving person in the comics. In the show, she's condescending, manipulative, selfish, and a liar. She's far from great and is a poor adaptation. Sorry, but it is what it is.

I'm fine with changes to the source material when doing an adaptation, only if said changes are GOOD and enhance/honor the material. All the changes that were made here were bad, plain and simple. They didn't understand Karolina's character, and they sure as hell weren't faithful to her which is a damn shame.
