Omg Karrie, you killed it girl!!! The trim looks sooo amazing! And I can’t believe how great your jimmy rigged trim looks at the bottom of those glass doors. Looks so professional! I loved the first trim over the glass doors more but honestly I get why you changed it after seeing the trim on the other door. Just know , if you decide to go back and redo it again, you can always say that the double doors need a grander statement and side door needs to just blend in. Girl I hope you are beaming with pride, you did an incredible job. The trim style is craftsman and there are a ton of variations of it, yours I think would be considered modern craftsman. And, you’re so right in saying it’s timeless. Love it all Karrie!!! Way to go girl!! Just incredible!!❤

I agree. Eyes are so fragile. My brother was blinded in one eye from mowing the lawn- a rock flew up from under the mower and hit his eye. Months of painful surgeries and still blind. Safety glasses are so important.

I love how handy and how creative you are! I actually like the final version of the door above the trim, I think the scale is more in line with what is around with the windows. I think the first trim you put up was too high at the top. But that being said, you do whatever you like and are comfortable with! Can wait to see you finish and decorate this space - so happy for you!

It is truly amazing how you are able to figure out most things yourself when it comes to building and such. You just know Dylan goes to work bragging about his beautiful and talented wife. Lol. As he should. Not many men work all day, then come home to a cabinet or something his wife made from scratch. Lol. You did great with all the trim. You are not annoying in the least that you're happy and proud of all you guys have accomplished in the building. I think once it's all completely done, you and Dylan should celebrate with champagne. ❤

The shorter header is consistent with the rest of the trim and scaled more proportionately to the room. The higher version looked like it was competing with the archway. IMO the room isn't large enough to justify the 'grandness' of the extra height. You're doing great. You're justified in being excited at seeing your vision come to life.

@karrielynn If it were a design feature which would be the focal point of the room, such as fireplace mantle, then some creative license makes more sense. Think that once you set up the room, get busy doing whatever, there'll be little time actually spent looking at what's above those doors.

Absolutely beautiful work! I think you made the right decision with the door trim but you could always put a simple pediment (decorative trim) above the door. Love the idea of painting trim darker than the walls.

I love watching your videos and have been inspired by your diy and use of power tools. As a women I have been intimidated by them but have begun to use them thanks to you. I would love a video or 2 that is like a how to or introduction to the different tools. I have done a few projects after being inspired but would love to do more. The other shed I didn't even notice it being messy. When you are working on some one area something always gets used as a storage area. My garage was a mess when we laid are new floors. Always satisfying when trim goes up. I love the Craftsman style trim. I like the door with the smaller trim, it was too top heavy and out of balance with the rest of the trim. This way it all matches.
