A ceasefire line was mapped out in the lower country but the politicians didn’t bother to negotiate a boundary here. It is after all, uninhabitable. But as the power struggle escalates, every bit of territory counts. The high altitude combat is costing each side $730 million dollars a year. At 19,000 feet both sides lose on average two soldiers a day to oxygen deprivation or frostbite. Those that are tough enough to survive often go mad with the ‘Siachen Syndrome’ - a result of the isolation, the constant bombardment, and the grim reality of having to kill the only other human beings they may see in their three month posting. Caught in the crossfire, a shell explodes overhead. Aimed at the small valley town of Athamuqam, these shells are designed to spray hundreds of deadly metal fragments. India’s test of a nuclear artillery shell has the population daily expecting Armageddon. We meet a truck-full of Kashmiris fleeing the besieged town in search of food. There is nothing low-key about this fighting; it’s incessant and deadly. The K2 postings are a lesson in the lengths India and Pakistan are prepared to go, to secure the next victory in Kashmir.

my uncle is a Col. (or Lt Col. can't remember) in the indian army and broke his leg up on siachen when his heli crashed during landing. btw the place that would suffer the most if all out war broke out between india and pak would be panjab. it's the largest land border between the two countries and most open with the most army posts. sad situation considering panjabi people on east or west are pretty much the same people and even have the same last names in lots of cases... some pakistanis have however adopted muslim names like khan or whatever though but if you trace their history you can find their original surname same as east punjabis.

Some muslims in punjab have surname khan because they are mix. Muslims marry other muslims while in india they are concerned with caste. Punjabis however are not indigenious indians anyway. Sikh is minority 90% of punjabis are muslim.

When they stopped the truck full of villagers, there was one guy that talked more, and explained that it was a struggle to get out of the village and they didn't know if they'd reach their destination. There were subtitles in English the entire time....until the reporter asked where the women and children were 😔 The subtitles suddenly stopped and the Pakistani commander cut the villager off in the middle of their response and proceeded to answer the question himself..in English Whats the point, you may ask? The village is being shelled so badly that all these men and young boys are running away screaming bloody murder. Why didn't they evacuate some women and children? Because they're muslims....and that means the men and boys are the ones they think to evacuate....the only ones that matter

Bis m Allah Fairness requires that the journalist went to the Indian side and showed their story. My experience shows that the Muslims are normally more welcoming and honest with their guests. You can see that with the Jewish and plastinian stories as well. Mind you, Muslims are not in their best state as far as following the teaching. Secondly the bearded man said the the small child died in the journey and cried in that story. He went as far as showing the journalist the mother of the child. Any decent and logical person would have no doubt that what he says is the truth. It is not as if by lying you will change the situation, he is simply talking from his heart. Yet the journalist says that there is no way to verify his story. This is the ugliness of having no faith therefore no trust. No faith means you look at the world through the lens of deception. Faith require that you use logic to ascertain the truth then have trust in it. This faith is possible only through islaam which will put the humanity back into human beings.
