We are a militaristic nation. Military is a wildly popular institution in our country. Pakistan Military is an institution of Great Britain. Only handful of Generals are pious and the rest love to drink wine. Except the Taliban rest of the Afghan political powers openly defies the durand line. We tried to use Jihadits as useful idiots, some worked and some didn't. Same goes for the USA. West went with India's unrealistic Afghan policy and faced 2nd coming of Talibans.
