When I think of Kashmir automatically, the first thing that goes thru my mind is the classic film of Shakti Samanta (1927-2009) Kashmir Ki Kali (1964) with Shammi Kapoor (193-2011), Sharmila Tagore, Pran, Anoop Kumar, Dhumal & Tun Tun. Just wondering how many kashmiri pandits, Sikhs, Dogras stalls were there in the market, Kunal? Growing up visiting my family, we had about 30% Hindus,Sikhs, Dogras doing business peacefully together in Lal Chowk.There was this guy very close to Lal Chowk, outside the market, who had a small Vaishnav dhaaba which sold some of the best rajma chawal, Kadhi , roti, sabzi..Is he still there?

Kashmir is indeed the paradise as described by Dr Sir Mohammad Iqbal. However the conflict between Pakistan and India has ruined it and turned into hell. Kashmir has more area and natural beauty than Switzerland. But the political leaders are corrupt like Pakistani Sharifs and Zardaris. Kashmir could have been a friendly independent place shared and administered by both the countries and turned it into a really most amazing tourist place in the world. Kashmiri food is influenced by Iran and other Muslims countries in central Asia and Afghanistan. Making the article 370 inactive by the BJP has further destroyed the place. It's a real hell.
