I left Texas at 17 and have spent the last 20 years wandering. I recently told my mama I was considering coming back and to hear the relief in her voice was a wake up call. This song hits like a ton of bricks. Poked me right in the heart and feeling lucky to have the ability to go back home.

@Burn Barnes - I lost both parents at a young age, in my early 20's & it's a strange thing. No matter our age, you feel so orphaned & lost, when you lose a parent..& the world just doesn't look the same! Life is fleeting & passes by, faster than you think..don't blink!! Unfortunately, we don't realize it was, "the good ole days," till they've come & gone!! I'd give a million dollars, to have both my parents back! I feel asthough I've been jipped, as I never got to see them, grow old & grey!! And now, I have this longing, this nostalgic feeling, of wanting to go home, but not knowing where home is!? Hiraeth I believe is the word for that!? So please, take it from me, family is priceless & tomorrow's not promised! Go love on your Mama💙

About 2 years ago my uncle went missing for about 2 and a half months.. his name was Johnny and during that time I discovered this song roughly around the same time this video was released.. when my mother found him he was deceased for a few weeks. I know it’s just coincidence but I still think that this song was a sign from the universe that something happened to him

When I was younger my relationship with my mom was complicated and we were often estranged. Now that I’m older and have softened up a little I can see how much precious time was wasted on hurt feelings. We’ve recently reconnected and things are good these days but the regret of years lost is still present. Thanks for making music that speaks to my heart Kassi. It’s appreciated more than I could ever adequately explain.

Dixon is only about 40 minutes drive from my place. Had I known she was playing there I would have come to listen. This was fantastic!
