Uncle Jimmy, We call Pickerel’s slime darts, junk fish. Anyone who goes out to catch them on purpose has a real love of fishing. The fact you can catch them on top water this time of year is interesting. The only time I have caught one was by mistake. I must say I appreciate their predatory attitude . They put up a great fight. They are the reason I purchased a pair of grippers after getting a tooth in my thumb that hurt for over a year. With the cold weather I am going to try and target them. Paradox most of the bass community dislikes Pickerel but would love to catch their cousins Pike or Musky.

Nephew Telemark Man - You can tell that Uncle Jimmy loves fishing period! There's a few fish that I would not target and that's carp and catfish. Uncle Jimmy do not like to sit and bait for fish to come. The only time I bait stuff is when i saltwater fish for specific species. Like crabs/crustaceans on a jig for Tautogs! but the fishing style is a lot different than sit and wait. I actively jig for them in locations so it's a weird exception. anyways, back on topic, Pickerels are certainly banging and fun! definitely want to have pliers and lipper grippers for them bigger ones. it helps keep their mouth open and so that you can get the hooks out! I think they just happy to catch the bigger pike family fish because.. they are big. Most pickerels are small, but they fight so well that they think they got a big bass... which leads to huge disappointments lol. i

Hehe I jumped on the trend before it was a video trend! Heck I even help create a bfs reel and launched it in the US! Wanted to give folks a chance with an affordable bfs reel! Now that I left KK. I hope they being the rods out soon for folks to use!

I used to think that memory didn't matter when it comes to baitcasters. But using a line with lots of memory will definitely reduce your casting distance. I switched to a more supple line and got at least 20 extra yards.

Yes they are! i think it's softer than some. Like most of the Tsurinoya Rods I have used are normally stiffer/faster tip action. but regardless, this is an UL graphite rod with a relatively fast tip action. it's a good in between

@@rawrfishing Yes i ve got one and for truit fishing i think it s really good, i fish one pikerell of 45cm and that what OK, you have to test micro spinners with this combo for pikerell 😉

sounds like a fun catch! I can try some spinners, but i have to wait for the plant to die down a bit more. and the algae too! else it'll get caught up in the spinner. i may make my own since i prefer single hooks, or at least swap off to singles

not for my lightest outfits. maybe the heavier ones like the Valiant Eagle and Black Knight. too cheap to buy thin braids lol. have you and what do you use?

It depends on my setup! If I can I'd do it! This video isn't a review of the Zephyr per se. But it is part of the collection of fishing with the Zephyr. So you can consume it as one aspect of a review. I often use reels with various fishing styles after the unboxing, cast testing and upgrade videos so that people can make their own decisions on whether whether want to try a product or not. What do you think of the kingdom solo ll rod? Any thoughts?

looks good, but their L rod goes only to 3 grams where as the Tsu Dragon goes to 2 grams. ontop of that their L rod is only 1.8m long where as the dragon is 7 ft. I probably won't get it.

hopefully with the vaccine rolling out, it will be a success and logistic prices will drop. that's the biggest issue now with prices is that shipping cost is high. many of the rods on aliexpress says free shipping, but in reality, they just bundled the shipping costs into the product... raising the price higher!

What brand and size single hooks do you use??

These are stock hooks on the popper. Will need to figure out the single hooks that will make this specific lure float. The stick bait i use size 6 single hooks from generic things you see on aliexpress
