10:30 I hate this so much because this is EXACTLY what Robert Pattinson & Jacob elordi did and they were PRAISED for it. It is so obviously sexist & gross

Yes!!

That’s not the same thing though. Even back then twilight was known for being goofy fandom that people didn’t take seriously. And Elordi was only casted for his part based on looks and stripping off his clothes for those movies. There was nothing in them that showcased his actual acting skills
@motherlee203 күн бұрын
@@Jprager that's not the point. twilight & the kissing booth launched robert & jacob to their current stardom. Neither of them would be as well known if it weren't for those roles. it's doesn't matter whether their parts were 'goofy' or aimed at teen girls -- they still sh*t on the very thing that made them famous & people ate it up. but when katherine did the same thing, people hated her
@Jprager3 күн бұрын
@@motherlee20 yess it is the point. Just as in the case for a woman. Why would you give props to a role that objectified you and utilized you more for looks rather than acting. That’s all Elordi was, barely any real dialogue and with his shirt off half the time

I truly believe she was being black balled. It just doesn't make sense how she was bulldozed over spilled milk. Her opinions must has p*ssed off someone in a high place. And why haven't we heard a bunch of celebrities come out and talk about how difficult she was to work with. Individual celebrities never said anything negative about her that stuck. Makes you think.🤔

As someone who watched Knocked Up an umpteenth amount of times as a kid, she is completely right. I can’t even stomach that movie as an adult. Katherine is an incredible actress and the hollywood machine chewed her up and spit her out as soon as she wasn’t marketable for them anymore. Deplorable.
@shadowscribbler610025 күн бұрын
I crossed paths with her in person circa 2008 on the set of Grey's anatomy and she seemed really stressed out. I saw her smoking by herself in a golf cart way off to the side of the set away from everyone else. I feel like there was already a lot of friction and she was under strain. When she passed by me in the hall in costume, she had this harassed, hunted look on her face, like she'd just had a major argument with someone. I feel she was the victim of Hollywood bullying rather than inherently difficult
@sabsk12225 күн бұрын
I think she was typecasted as being a difficult woman in all the movie roles she played and that doesn't help with her public persona when all we see on the screen is a difficult woman.

I remember Ellen Pompeo saying something about how Heigl's romcom queen career fizzled out after she left Grey's. Hugely passive aggressive and openly pandering to Shonda Rhymes.

I think Katherine is simply an imperfect person like any of us. I think she probably was a little hard to work with, because I remember there were rumours about that as early in her career as Roswell (and the same could be said for most of the teens on that cast, and several of them have admitted they let the fame go to their head) but I have a feeling she is not really any worse than most actors and actresses in Hollywood. And tbh, she wasn't wrong about Knocked Up being sexist and her character being a shrew. Katherine's real crime is stepping on the toes of two people with more power than her IMO, as well as being a female. Men can absolutely get away with saying comments like Katherine has said and worse (more specifically white men). But also, because both Judd Apatow and Shonda Rhimes were at the peak of their careers at the time, that absolutely made things worse. If Katherine had insulted the movie/show of someone who didn't have their pull, it might have blown over a little easier. I also think to a degree, her comments were blown out of proportion - she didn't insult Knocked Up entirely, her original comment was purely about her character. And to be honest, the material she got in the third season of Grey's didn't live up to the material she had in the second season, which was the height of her story arc. 🤷🏻♀️ Anyway, it's a shame she has never been able to claw back a career the way many men do in this industry all the time. For all the assholes who cry "cancel culture", Katherine is someone who absolutely suffered from it before it was a thing.

If it was some male vs female thing then they'd be saying it about a lot of other actresses too. I know people who have worked behind the scenes with her and they don't have anything nice to say, and these are other women. Stop trying to use "ists" and "isms" to avoid accountability. She's significantly ruder then other actresses so she stands out as the rude one, simple as that.

@bridget_the_youtuber No, it's her day to day behavior of acting entitled and better then everyone while talking down to set workers and other staff as well as her and her mom cussing people out in professional settings. This video only covered a small portion of why she's disliked.

In my opinion, I think she deserved it. You don’t put down the movie that put you on the map and you don’t put down the writers who had already won you and Emmy with their writing. She deserved it and don’t think I’m in the minority think that.

You are not in the minority. It is the first thing I said when I clicked start. She deserved the cancellation. She insulted the talents who gave her a break. It is not always necessary to run your mouth. Get the job done. Move on if you don't want those types of parts.

Lesson learned. I think she's at a great place now. Unfortunately, I feel like her mother perhaps influenced her in the way she spoke of certain things. Watching that Emmy speech saying, "My own Mother said I wouldn't win so I didn't prepare a speech" I mean I feel like that says a lot of how she saw herself in fame like she didn't deserve awards or praise. I'm not saying she isn't all at fault, but her manager Mom definitely played a part, if you think about it! 😢
