Really enjoyed the pacing of this video. The comments you made in between your driving shots were really cool. we are very similar to you guys and that our first trip of the year would do very close to home, because we always forget something. We were watching one of hang'n with herky's videos the other day and they also went up a very similar tower. We are not afraid of heights, but the angle you showed from your camera looking up made it look pretty intense!

Very cool. At least someone has gotten out so far this year! Still packing here. Very nice view of Mille Lacs from the tower! I'll be hanging around MN camping after a few more weeks of prep. Plan to try the free dispersed camping at state forests. I think I was only at Kathio once before. We walked the trail with the code word, the hiking club trail. Anyway, enjoy and we'll see you all down the road!

The music volume (too high) clashes with your voice volume (too low).

Looks like Bill is commenting on your video quality here as well. Bill has given us a few helpful tips along the way too and we've been able to make adjustments. Thanks Bill for watching out for us creators!

@@PlayingwithSticks Surprise (!) seeing you here on this "somewhat obscure" channel, but I guess one reason you're here is the "experimenting" you did with that rental Scamp 13 a while back? Are you going to keep your teardrop or get a Scamp? You know, as light as they (Scamps & Casitas) are, even the 16' model MIGHT (hopefully!) be towable with your current vehicle (if you travel light gear-wise)...and 16' would give you lots more room. If not, for sure the 13 would be doable (as you already know). As for this video (and volume issue) it seems that way here on the finished/published video -- 2 different volume levels -- but maybe when "Our Scamplife" plays it back before publishing to "proof" it, the audio volume difference isn't noticeable to him -- I mean, they don't hear any difference? I had to alternate lowering/raising the volume often...there must be a way to "normalize" it to the same level I'd guess in the video editing software? Nice to see you here also -- Happy Tear-Dropping, if not Scamping, -- BR

@@billredding2000 We love this channel. We have picked up a lot of good tips from these guys. Honestly I think in the end we won't be able to choose and will have to go with both a teardrop and a Scamp. I love the teardrop for it's classic style and smooth lines, but also love being able to stand up every now and then. We took the Scamp out this week and loved it. But, not enough to give up on the teardrop. Such a hard decision. We are a one vehicle family and don't really want to have both a Scamp and a teardrop on the property, but man we love them both! This week we really figured out how to distribute the weight better in the Scamp. We were towing the Scamp over the mountain passes at 60 miles per hour. People are right, you can easily tow a Scamp with a 4 cylinder. For us it was ensuring there was only about 1/4 of water in the holding tank and then spreading the rest of our water around the Scamp and car in jugs. As for the audio we had similar issues when we made our first 5 or so videos. We were monitoring the audio through cheap speakers instead of watching the metering on our editing software. Usually our voice audio is pretty consistent, but our music can get all over the place. However we finally found the music sweet spot and then for voice we occasionally have to lower or increase the levels. As you mentioned Our Scamp Life should be able to find a plugin or setting in their editing software that normalizes the audio. Safe travels Bill. Good to hear from you, even if it is over here at one of our shared interest sites.

@@PlayingwithSticks Yes, the Scamp 13 (or 16 even) are probably the lightest-weight TTs in the "smaller TT" segment, so if someone has a car that's somewhat "marginal" (usually meaning a naturally-aspirated (vs. turbo) 4-cylinder, which usually has something like a 1500lbs towing-capacity MAYBE!)) but still wants to tow a TT, I always suggest they look at Scamps. AND -- as you mentioned -- travel in it lightly loaded. I'd add Casita to that, but they have lower headroom and many people can't stand up in them. I don't know why Casita doesn't CHANGE that and ADD a few more inches to the interior height...after all, it's not the 1950s anymore, when most people were munchkin-sized (I guess). ;-) However, I'd like to see Scamp use a heavier-capacity (more robust) frame and axle, along with more "serious" heavier-duty tires. One reason I like the more "off-road-leaning" TTs such as the T@B 320 Boondock Edge and Airstream Basecamp X is their larger more aggressive tread tires. But it looks like Scamp is kind of kile Casita: Won't be changing the way "we've always done it," which IMO is disappointing. As for video volume issues, a steady volume throughout the video means one doesn't have to turn the volume up when someone is speaking, then turn it down when the music comes on, back up when speaking, back down when music -- that is highly annoying, and you don't want to give a viewer ANY reason to not like your channel, yes? So IMO, a "creator" needs to get the BASICS down -- video volume AND quality video (not crappy cellphone low-resolution or grainy pixelated video), because if the BASICS aren't right, no one is going to stay around for the content, no matter how good it is: The poor audio/video is too distracting, annoying and a deal-breaker (if you will). And with fairly cheap high-resolution cameras out now, there's no reason to produce crappy/pixelated video. BTW, I follow maybe 50 KZbin channels off/on, so I'm never following one regularly or EVERY video they produce...but eventually, I do get back to them. ;-) Happy travels...will be seeing you over at "Playing with Sticks" soon at some point, -- BR
