Whenever, Adam Rupp (the beatboxer) sings, it's a real treat for us Home Fries. He has a beautiful tenor voice, but usually sticks to the beatboxing. This is one of the VERY few songs where he actually sings a solo on the melody (even though it's only for a couple of lines).

Adam Rupp is an Alto. The very high notes in the harmonies is Adam. But you are right, he has a beautiful voice.

@@johnwillis4706 , if Adam is an Alto, then you would have to call Austin an Alto, too. I’m an Alto and they can both sing higher than I can. As men, I think they would both be considered to have Tenor I voices. I’m curious now to find a video of Adam’s range; I haven’t seen one in a while. Each of the guys has an amazing voice in his own way.

The group started over 20 years ago. This was in or after 2016 because Chance is with them instead of Chris (Adam's brother). They are singing in the beautiful Austrian Alps.

This is one of the most sung Christian Hymns in church. 100's of artists have recorded, including Elvis , Carrie Underwood. Made more popular by George Beverly Shea during Billy Graham crusades. Home Free added a Chorus of "It is well with my Soul", another well sung hymn.

Austrian Alps. Written in the 1880s in Sweden using an old Swedish folk song and brought to the US by Swedish immigrants. This is my favorite version of this classic hymn. BTW, Home Free released a new song Monday called Skull and Bones for the soon-to-be release video game Skull and Bones. Oh. My. Goodness. It's the lyric video (with the trailer for the video game). It'll blow the two of you out of the water! (Pun intended)

it's all them, believe it or not...yes this is an old Swedish Lutheran hymn that came with the immigrants in the late 1800's. This was filmed in the Austrian Alps, not far from where the famous opening sequence of the Sound of Music was filmed. I have it in my Will that this version by Home Free be played at my memorial service,

If I remember correctly they were in Austria when they recorded this. They were in Europe on tour when they found this location and took advantage of it. It was real water flowing when it's being heard before and after they sing. I would have to say that most definitely have not ever heard the original as it's about 200 years old. Rob - the bearded one - has the most amazing voice. He's a classically trained singer and that comes out in the duet he sang with Austin in Messum Dorma, something that's completely mind blowing. He's also got his silly side - maybe not the right word - but he has the lead in their cover of 9 to 5 but he also has the lead in When Will I Be Loved and Never Going To Give You Up.

Rob ( Beard and glasses ) lead song Catch Me If You Can ( Original) End Of The Road Spaceship Country Roads I Swear When Will I Be Loved Blue Ain’t Your Colour Never Goin To Give You Up Also For something completely different than anything you heard from Home Free They just released an original written by Chance Skull and Bones it’s for the video game Skull And Bones Ubisoft is releasing soon. They have a Lyric video and they sang it Live at Ubisoft Live Premiere You guys really need to have headphones or earbuds to get the full experience of A Cappella there are so many sounds you miss without them.

Thank you. You're one of the few reactors who actually realized Adam was singing instead of beatboxing. He has a naturally beautiful voice but doesn't like to take the lead because he hasn't been vocally trained like the others. Unless he's beatboxing most reactors seem to forget he's even there.

I would say there’s no original of this, just that many have sung it. I’ve sung it in church many times. It’s so beautiful and their version is one of my favorites! Their harmonies are so good. Tim is the bass and started the song. (He’s cut his hair in future videos during Covid and some gray has come in.) Austin (redhead) is the high tenor. Rob (glasses) is the tenor. Chance (looks a little like Leo DiCaprio) is the baritone/bass. Adam (beatboxer) sang “it is well” and has a nice tenor voice when he sings. This was filmed in the Austrian Alps when they were touring there. They just released a new song called Skull & Bones. Chance wrote the song for the game. It’s a banger and Tim goes insanely low. I know you’re having trouble with headphones synching but they really help. Great reaction you two! 😃😍

Church hymns like this are perfect for a cappella harmonies like Home Free has. My mother used to watch the Billy Graham Crusades when I was growing up and the first time that I heard this song it was back in the mid 1960's and it was sung by George Beverly Shea.

"How Great Thou Art" is based on an original Swedish hymn written in 1885 by Carl Boberg. The English version of the hymn and its title are a loose translation by the English missionary Stuart K. Hine in 1949. The beautiful location where they are singing is in the Austrian Alps. This is a very popular Hymn sung all the time in churches everywhere. Home Free's angelic and choir like rendition is just masterful. All their covers are so well done, staying true to the original while adding their own special touch. And their original songs are just another level of fantastic. They have been turning out a lot of original material lately. Loving it. Looking forward to your next reaction.

The best rendition of this hymn I've ever heard - just beautiful. This was filmed in the Austrian Alps and the scenery is simply gorgeous. You might also like their collaboration with the Oak Ridge Boys on "Beautiful Star of Bethlehem". When Austin was a kid he sometimes traveled & sang with his father's gospel quartet in Georgia and that comes through in some of their songs, especially "My Church" and the aforementioned collaboration.

You got me curious, so I looked it up. This is based off of a Swedish poem from the 1800s. The english song as you heard hear was written in 1949. Many groups have recorded this. I always thought the Statler Brothers did a particuarly good job with this song. Of course it goes without saying that the Home Free version is outstanding. Great reaction.

This beautiful hymn was written by Carl Boberg, a Swede in 1885 as a poem. He was walking home and suddenly he was in a thunderstorm. When the storm began to relent, he rushed home. He opened his windows to let in the fresh bay air, and the vision of tranquility that greeted him stirred something deep in his soul. The sky had cleared. Thrushes sang, and in the distance, the resonant knell of church bells sounded. He was so moved, he sat down and wrote “O Store Gud”-the poem that, through a winding series of events would become “How Great Thou Art.” It was finally translated into English in the 1940s, so yes it is a cover and has been song by many artists including Elvis.

This cover made me so happy! One of my favorite bands singing one of my favorite songs. Singing this in church with over 300 people is truly amazing and it always gets me choked up. Also the story behind It Is Well (about the original writer) is compelling. It's sad but still inspiring and hopeful.

When they are all singing 5 part harmony, HF is magical. Try Helplessly Hoping, Brothers in Arms, or Auld Lang Syne for more 5 part harmonies. As gorgeous as this video is, I prefer the live, off mic, version they did in Kearney Neb. Where they came out in a storm to sing to the folks taking shelter in a pavilion after their concert had to be cancelled. They hopped on a picnic table and these 5 guys sang this song live. The storm was raging, but it was so amazing.
