This is SO well said girl!! I'm going through something really similar right now and it's a really scary headspace that can make you have some not so fun thoughts or impulses! So glad you're finding your way through it!

Thank you for making this video. I think mental health is a real concern for creators and an area that I think KZbin needs to address more directly. I have felt the same as you over the past 4 years myself. I hope moire creators hear your message so they know they are not alone. Well done!

Needed this. Content creation is not even my full time job but I try to give my 100% to everything I do and between my actual full time job and family life I’m feeling the burnout.

This video has come at just a time when I’m beginning to realize that I’m sooooooo close to a burnout! Have always felt that whatever you say Katie is just ME, so this one is super special ✨ I’m definitely going to try out doing all these 5 things in the break that I take 🤍

Thank you! I am burnt out!!! I've just been coasting along.... literally. It feels never ending but I have been hopeful that I will bounce back eventually.

Yes! So many great messages in this. We need to escape the belief of trading time for money. Hustle culture is real, and feeling guilty for stepping away when you "should" be working is probably the hardest step. I congratulate you for not only recognizing what was going on and make positive changes for yourself, but sharing your story with the world.

This is me right now! But I'm slowly recovering. Your video was so relatable. Some days I'd not feel like working even though I love doing that. Then I knew something wasn't right & I need to slow down. I also reduced my content consumption which helped me as well

Currently taking time off work due to burnout. When I was younger i thought it was a hoax. Now i know it's real. And I absolutely hate it. All I want is to be back at normal. People think it's a "nice vacation", which couldn't be further from the truth. For me it's honestly my worst nightmare. I love learning new things, to grow and improve. Now my brain cannot handle anything. Can barely watch KZbin videos for fun without getting a headache. It's like the brain cannot process any information. So mostly reading fiction now, or drawing. Thanks for this video, it feels comforting knowing I'm not alone. It's a weird time and I'm sure many have been affected mentally by the last 1.5 years.

I just wanted to say that I love your channel. I am not a content creator. I did it for a bit on Instagram but like you found it bad for my mental health so I gave it up. But I love to watch your You Tube channel as I love your voice and your honesty ! I like your real content where you share your feelings and i am so glad you are going down this path rather than the Insta hacks. I have burnt myself out a few times and it led to 2 breakdowns so I really relate to this video especially but I love all your videos x

I have been posting regularly on Instagram and KZbin for a while now and I wanted to get better and better so I tried to learn everything about the algorithms and it started to slowly eat me. Then I moved from New Zealand to Germany and all of a sudden my international reach was gone. I wrote a book, I had a podcast, tiktok, Instagram & a KZbinr channel but it all stopped growing. So now I'm making German content but I can't maintain having a podcast, youtube channel and social media accounts in both languages. It's all getting out of hand. I feel like I can't keep up with anything anymore. I can't concentrate and I can't focus. When I have energy I don't know where to put it in first. I'm feel completely tired and overwhelmed and the worst thing is I don't feel valid because I am not a "big or medium creator". I feel like I am not allowed to feel burned out because I am not making money from it. I really don't know what do to anymore at this point. But thank you for your video it helped me feel less alone. And it gave me a bit more of a perspective.

Thank you for this video. I am experiencing a huge burnout, as I am trying to grow two channels. One is monetized and brings me very little money, and another one is not even monetized. I work so much for both of them, that sometimes I think, and I stupid? why don't I just work for a company, doing the same job and earning money? But I've put so much work that its now scary to stop. I want to keep going, but lately I am depressed and squeezing out of nothing. I will try to implement more of what you have said.

Great video! Just trying to get my Instagram page going for my dogs and when working full time and then some, it's tiring just thinking about what I can do for their page. Can we talk about your haircut? It looks amazing on you!!!

This is such a great video Katie! And… I really needed to hear it so thank you! Sometimes I think part of what makes taking a break difficult, is when we’re so passionate about what we do. We love it, so we live it, and taking a break can feel like “what IS this?! What AM I?!” You’re so right about finding other things that are part of your self worth and identity. I really appreciate this whole video and your honesty is so beautiful. Also, your hair is so beautiful!! Wowza!

thank you so much!! it's true, when our identity is so wrapped up in our creative work it can feel impossible to not just keep working. it's been super helpful for me to find other parts of my life that can bring me meaning, so i know that i'm still me, even if i'm not creating at the moment

@@katie taking a break is counterintuitively one of the most productive things a human can do, even when we’re recovering from extreme productivity culture, and it feels so completely alien to do so - it’ll help with becoming the best version of ourselves in a balanced way 💕
