Do you find that you have to art? Like you have an internal pressure that you can not ignore? Like it won't go away until you have done something artistic?

Yes!!! No one quite understands it and it’s so isolating sometimes!

@@acrylicpoursgalore6843 Yeah, it is like eating or breathing, you can't not do it, but people really don't seem to get the need. It's nice to know I am not the only one. :)

I think it’s doing something creative more than artistic.

You are a motivational and inspirational teacher. My first painting was acrylic and you are my first teacher and I am still painting many years later because of you. I cannot thank you enough Katie. I experienced everything that you are sharing with us in this video. Just appreciate your support and encouragement through your tutorials and replies to my comments. You are incredible!

Excellent talk Katie 👍❤️ I usually hate youtubers' "talks", because it's usually just some meaningless blah blah blah, but you were really talking, from experience, from real life, giving some great comparisons to illustrate and highlight important messages.

This video is serendipitous in its timing - have been feeling the disheartening funk last few weeks and needed to hear this. Thank you from the bottom of my heart for the pep talk!!! 🙏❤️

Katie - thank you so much! I've had a block recently, and this helps. I took your class and I'm proud to say I was part of a four artist show at our local, tiny art guild last month.

Yes, a ballerina practices, but lets not forget the flamenco dancer who exerts passion for the combination of music, movement and emotion. A well thought out painting may very well be sound in its foundation but theres also beauty in spontaneity. Just letting instinct take the wheel. I agree having those 5 core skills is paramount, but dont let them chain you. Use them but make sure your work doesnt show them. Am i making sense? Anyway its not said with disrespect, just an observation. Great video

Cause I'm shit? 😂 I know I'm artistic. But I stopped drawing at around 18. Now I'm 37 and I want to paint but I do suck at it. But I'll keep trying. It's hard to persist though when your not happy with anything.

I started painting two years ago, at age sixty. I'm rubbish, but I'm improving. In this era in particular, it's crucial for each of us to fully express our humanity, in the face of an onslaught of what I believe is an anti-human agenda. I encourage you to keep at it....the world needs your voice and vision. Keep looking at art by artists that inspire you. Cheers!

If you focus on enjoyment of making art, and the process of getting there, then you will not be disappointed, and you will pursue your art easily. Don't be so serious about it, and let go of any burden that comes from it 🙂
