I love the overhead camera. To see you, the canvas and the most importantly (for me at least), how you mix the paints all in the one shot. Thanks.

I love the textured abstract nature of this painting! Even when I see a painting choice you made that didn’t feel right to me, I think that is more telling of my own style than a judgement on yours. I’ve learned so much about my own style this way. So no matter what-you do you!😊 thanks for another great tutorial.

10 out of 10 for the way you present your lessons. Not only are your technique and colour explainations brilliant, the way you video your painting (and palette) are fantastic and there are quite a few instructional videos on KZbin etc these days that could definitely take a leaf out of your book. Well done!

Do you have a tutorial that involves semi-realistic rocks of some sort? Maybe an island made of rocks, or a waterfall or something? I cannot for the life of me paint rocks! I've tried several tutorials but I feel like you're the best teacher. I can do mountains because they're more abstract and in the distance, but close up rocks that need to look somewhat realistic have been my downfall lol.

Mixing a bit of nothingness is really good advise. Too often in my own work my colors are too high-key and look unnatural. Learning how to mix neutrals and using a limited color palette; best advise ever.

LOVED THIS. You have taught me so much about loose brushstrokes and the impressionist style of painting. My painting has improved so much since I have been watching your tutorials, thank you so much! I would love to learn how to do a super moody, roiling cloudy sky with big churning clouds with opinions LOL if that makes sense. Thank you for everything!

Katie.... i simply ADORE your flowers... they are loose... abstract and just beautiful... I kept waiting for this painting to come together for you but for me it never did... Maybe its just too abstract for me... I need the finished abstract to still look like something... like flowers usually end up still looking like well .. flowers.. Also seeing you look up all the time in the video was a little distracting... couldn't help wonder what in the world you were doing... lol Thank you so much for taking the time to post a video. I do not do patreon but i look forward to your next video here on KZbin...

Hi do you think gesso is important for paintings? I bought it and it's lying in the cupboard..Can i use it to extend the drying time of my acrylics?
@RETROSPECTIVE_73 жыл бұрын
to extend the drying time of acrylic paint, u should consider buying the slow drying medium made specifically for acrylics, I don't think gesso will extend your drying time, but it does make acrylic paint way smoother and gesso is also necessary if you' re painting with oils. You must always apply gesso to your canvas, otherwise, the oil will soak into the canvas and bleed. It isn't really necessary with acrylics but it helps u preserve your artwork better. I hope u found this useful.
@urvashiartstudio3 жыл бұрын
Gesso is not important for paintings but it is good for priming your canvas. Store bought canvases are usually primed with white Gesso but I like to add one or two coat of white gesso and dry it before I start painting. Gesso is also good to prime paper for oil painting on paper.
