Since you came to Los Angeles, it has been raining almost non stop. It has solved our drought problem, so thank you for that. But, it also has meant that I 've barely been able to go on rides outside , which for LA is very unusual. We typically get 10 rainy days for the whole year and beg to have rain. This year I was finally able to say that I was getting really tired if all the rain. Enjoy the sunshine while you can.

Love your rides, Katie Kookaburra! Trick to getting out of the pool or onto boats. Don't pull. Strong kick or kicks to push yourself as much out of the water, then support with your arms. Then lift one leg and the other. It's easier than it sounds. It's all about technique. 😉🙂

Every one climbs Pico de las Nieves from the south from the coast as a day ride, mostly racing types. However it's nice to do a bit of touring and sleep out under the stars in the middle of nowhere. St.Bartholme or Tunte is a beautiful small town for a short break. Don't go to GC if you don't like hills and mountains. There are many brutal climbs but the scenery is stunning. The hiking is great as well.

After that ride you did deserve a long cool soak in the pool, goodonya x 100 for not giving up when your legs were complaining, the views were worth the ride then. Impressive ride. Fancy having an Aussie gum tree there, these Aussies get everywhere you know🙂👍

Been 4 long years since my last visit to GC, so it almost hurts to watch. Btw yeah heat is tough, but so the cold. Pico de las Nieves means Snow Peak, and I’ve had the rather unpleasant experience of descending from there in snowy conditions in summer clothing. But, come heat or cold, GC is fantastic!

So jealous, did pico solo as loop from mogan in May, climbed serenity in blazing sunshine so so beautiful, stopped for quick coffee in ayacata before turning uphill to climb properly this is where the wind started followed by fog by the time I got to the peak it was absolutely honking down and could barely keep the bike straight, the old guy in the coffee van that's in your video let me sit in as my first coffee blew out the cup!!! Couldn't see a bloody thing, headed back down and hit the sun again from San bartolome? (Think that's right) bloody lovely ride though, also just watched your moonrakers and sunseekers film, did that last month -7⁰ froze both my bidons didn't go above freezing till we got to the services 😮 it was a very flat though, head a bit further south west if you want some climbing, I'm doing a SR audax in June 600km 13500 m of climbing Have a lovely Christmas 🎄

@@KatieKookaburra it was cool! Lots of little stops on the way and got to see some really nice scenery in a less strenuous way than you 😀 it looked awesome for cycling but I’d only started cycling 6 months before I was there so decided against it. Three years later and I’m attempting a sub 7 Fred Whitton in 6 weeks time 😬 narrowly missed it last year due to cramp on Hardknott

Absolutely awesome, as always. Don't know how you manage it but glad you do so we can 'experience' it. Your video has confirmed to me that GC is not a place for me to cycle as I'm one of your 'disliked' flatties and, at my age, I doubt I could make it up the climbs but still get a great deal of pleasure seeing and hearing all about it vis your efforts. Thank you. PS does the chemicals in the pool not affect the chammy on your bibs? 🥰

I truly appreciate your courage, bravery, resilience, stubborness (even when it's mixed with some genuine insanity), but for me the greatest admiration goes to those who say "Ok, it was not possible for me now, let's do a better preparation for this or let's go for another one." And I do appreciate the way you share with us all the hard moment you go through, but spare your breath, sometimes a silent cyclist's face says more than a panting cyclist's one
