Have you tried an alternate method of installing the pistons to the bore? Rings on piston, clip in, insert piston to the bore up to the gudgeon pin, then bring cylinder and piston to the con-rods. Likely easier on a single, and interesting on multiple. Of course have the gudgeon pin in the ready position. No idea if this is easier than the typical method you show and others around me do as well.

Just fitted the cylinder on my ER. Took me a WHILE to get the rings in there..... What I've noticed in your video: Did you forget the two small dowels between engine block and cylinder? Or was that on purpose?

LOL yes I did miss them out, good spot. I missed them completely! Oh well never mind. It will be fine without them, but for others reading this DONT forget the dowels. Cheers dude. The head will be coming off after running the engine for a couple of hundred miles, I'll make sure I check it and mention it in the video. See if the cylinder has moved any. - matt

It says in the Manuel you have to get the ring gaps in the correct position or does that not matter

For new rings or rehoned cylinders yes - for this, not so much

In the middle of rebuilding engine and noticed in gasket set theres cylinder base o rings but I't doesn't look like they've been used in this video
