Best video so far on the Tube for Kawasaki. I have a 2006 Vulcan 500 in NJ and local shop won't repair 10 yr old bike any more. I'm on my own and lucky to have your help. Thanks a ton!

This video is excellent. This helped to to do the job today. Although, getting the carbs back in was much harder, and took me a long time. Thank you for this video!!

Really glad to hear it. I always loosen up the clamps REALLY FAR and it does take a while to get the hang of putting pressure on the rubbers. Enjoy the ride!

Thank you for doing this. This made it so much easier to get the carbs out.

Jet cleaners work great too! Old school carb cleaner and guitar bottom E strings or jet cleaners are best! Thanks for your video 😎👍

JIS not Philips, that’s why your screws are caming out And if you have water in the fuel it’ll be a blocked drain at the filler cap

Thanks but for a bike that so easy to work on, I'd hate to have to work on one that's the opposite. I'd run non ethanol gas if possible but at least put some fuel stabilizer in the gas tank when you fill up. Also an in-line fuel filter makes sense too. Dirt and water are bike killers. Also get some carb cleaner with those thin red blow straws and squirt them into and thru all your jets or better yet replace the jets with new ones. You can buy an entire rebuild kit for about $20 on ebay that includes new screws, new gaskets, new jets, new float bowel gauge, etc. I made my own compression plate out of scrap 1/8 flat steel sheet measuring 6" x 14" that compresses the boots coming out of the box. I drilled holes on the edges of the plate and attached my ratchet straps and ran the nylon straps back and thru the real tire or frame for anchoragel. Attach the hooks to both sides of the plate and Then i just ratcheted down the straps and they pulled the plate back against the box compressing the boots greatly and made it much easier to get the carbs back in. Once the front carb throats were fitted into the front boots, I released the ratchet, slid out the steel plate and the back boots popped back out and where relative easy to slip over the back of the carb and and adjust the compression springs. I am looking for a fuel line routing diagram for all the many fuel line hoses to make sure i'm 100 percent correct. I don't want to have to do this job all over again!!!!! Also I have a video of this "compression plate for the carb boots if interested. If i have the time i'll put it on youtube tool. It's short and to the point. I'm a busy guy and my attention span is limited so i try to stay on point at all times. Too many blah, blah, blahers on youtube that love to hear themselves talk that pisses me the hell off!!!

I think on my way home just now a bit of grit got in at least one of my pilot jets. Out of nowhere she decided to pop super loud and cut off then not want to ideal well. Will be the 3rd time this year cleaning the carb if it doesn't fix it's self over night lol.

Don't know what fuel you have in your area but we have E10 ie 10% Ethanol and it attracts water like a sponge if left standing for a little while could that be the liquid in your carb? Also do not tighten the carb clamps to tightly it can cause the clamp to dig in and split the rubber with vibrations? Lastly, to fit things like tanks onto mounting rubbers put a little err, personal lubricant onto the rubbers and the tank will slide on a treat, no kidding and the stuff is usually kind to rubber!! Once I get my jets 'clean', I use a water pick to blast them. I also force water through the idle passages with the pilot jet out and the needle valve out. This has worked better than ultrasonic cleaning. Also, Do you every clean the holes in the emulsion tubes?

I cleaned out my carburetor on my Kawasaki Ninja 500R 2005 but I left one jet inside I couldn't get it out so I get them playing and playing with it and I think I went a little too far down because I think now it's leaking gas what can I do

What year is your bike? Mine is a '98. And shouldn't you disconnect the battery? Also, you can suck the gas out with turkey baster.

I just got a 1991 model and after some riding it doesn't start anymore. The bike has been sitting for 3 years until today
@danfruzzetti76047 ай бұрын
hi neighbor, what kind of "doesn't start?" does it turn but not fire? does it not even turn over? i had one pigtail on the right (under the tank) come unplugged while i was riding and i had total loss of power.

thanks, Larry. if i take it off again later and there's water in it again, what would you recommend i do to chase down the issue?
@steve234648 ай бұрын
@NicolaVillanuevaSanchez Most likely cause is bad gas. You should avoid 93 octane gas because fewer people buy it due to the cost therefore it sits in the tanks longer at the station and more chance to get contaminated with water. 87 octane changes out of the pumps much faster. The other cause would be a leaky gasket on the gas cap.
@tlimsisnw19483 жыл бұрын
You could have gotten the water in the gas at where you get gas
