Kawasaki fork seal replacement

Greatly appreciate this. My 06' 500 has been on a lift for a couple months due to forks leaking and not having the time to work on it. Finding videos specific to this model can be a real pain and im planning to do my forks this week and now i feel way more confident in doing it after watching this.

Would you say it's entirely necessary to clean the fork? And if so... What do you do with the cleaning agents you use after you're finished? Do you just dump it down the drain or do you have a particular waste disposal? I'm just about to get working on my forks off of my Kawa Vulcan 500 '06 since they started leaking a few years ago and I put it in the garage until I had time and money to work on it.

If you are just doing a fork, seal replacement and not painting them then you shouldn't need to do a thorough cleaning on them I would just make sure there's not large debris in them. The main reason I cleaned mine so well is because i'm painting them.

@@trucksandjunk6190 No plans to paint them, just needed to replace the oil! Thanks for the quick response, I managed to get both forks off today without much issue, I definitely need to give the bike a thorough clean once I've got it all together and out of the garage next year, though..!
