I had a Suziki dr650se. I loved it. 85 on the interstate. But I needed the gel seat to ride longer distances. But great for fire roads in the mountains out west.
@RamblinAround10 жыл бұрын
That's the kind of bike you need if you're going to ride across South America or something.

I'm about to buy a 2006 klr650 for 2300 with 18000 miles, is that a good deal? I need your advice. Is in mi trabajo condition
@GrussimoGarage10 жыл бұрын
He's having a good time! The venerable KLR 650. Mostly unchanged since 1987. Poor ol girls only make 30 hp. But bulletproof! Military used them with a single cyl diesel (Hayes powered)!!!
@805ROADKING10 жыл бұрын
It would be interesting to try a diesel bike eh!!☺

Man that's a fast bike. I'd like to see how big the piston is on that monster.

The 650 KLR is what I would have to ride again for the forest roads around where I live if I thought my old body would bounce back from the spills that come with back county riding. They are speedy and plenty of power for freeways, You get bringer gas tansk for them too so plenty of time in the backwoods.
@805ROADKING10 жыл бұрын
You may bounce back a little but it takes a whole lot longer!!☺

@warriordriver35010 жыл бұрын
haha yeah groutaone probably has the nicest cr500 2 stroke those things are nuts, would make his bike look like nothing, you would need an 800cc 4 stroke to compete with that lol. Thats a nice dual sport though good power to really catch up to speed and the flow of traffic.
@burninpwder7610 жыл бұрын
love the Thumpers I have a suzuki dr 250 (well it started out a 250) closer to a 350 now Thumper racing worked over the motor and carb. I love it when someone only looks at the 250 and thinks they have it beat :D no electric start on mine though.
@805ROADKING10 жыл бұрын
Lol!! A 250 Sleeper eh!!☺
@burninpwder7610 жыл бұрын
805ROADKING Yep it has more torque and power than the stock 350 model. Beware us fellows who know how to turn wrenches. What the stickers say is rarely what it is. I'll have to make a vid and put it up at some point.

I noticed that you're from New Jersey I was wondering if there's any good auctions or swap meets in new Jersey. I'm looking for mini bikes and stuff like that. Right now I'm getting them off Craigslist but everybody wants way to much for them.
@805ROADKING10 жыл бұрын
Englishtown swap meet has alotta mini bikes, they have it a couple times a year!!☺

Is that a 2005?
@JimsEquipmentShed10 жыл бұрын
I know that bike well, I had a green one. It's torquey, but maxes out at about 85mph, not a super comfortable highway cruiser, and first gear is pretty high for the woods. Plus I'm not even 5'9" so the inseam was killer on that bike. This bike is really best suited to someone 6' plus. Its almost the same bike the marines use though, about all they really do to it is change the engine out to a diesel. I would probably be the one person looking to the 250 version. B-)
@805ROADKING10 жыл бұрын
Yeah I couldn't ride that either!! You need to be comfortable when you're riding!!☺
@JimsEquipmentShed10 жыл бұрын
805ROADKING Yup, I had it for two years, and traded it in. I did the lowering kit on it, and that didn't help nearly as much as I expected it would. I even lowered the front end, as you can slide the entire assembly down a couple of inches. While I had it parked once, it fell over in the grass (entirely my fault) and bent up the radiator really bad. I expected more for a duel sport. I'd hate to see what it would look like after a crash if it cant take pegging over in the soft grass.....

@nokinja7 жыл бұрын
The "doohickey" is the counter balance chain tensioner. The stock tension lever is poorly made and it's spring commonly breaks.

That has nothing for rooster tails even on soft ground! My friend has a Honda XL600 converted to a dirt bike and it friggan hauls! It shoots 30 foot rooster tails and lifts the front wheel in third gear. It's too fast for me lol. I have a lill xr100 but the more I ride my beastly kawasaki 400 4x4 atv the more I like it!

@skeligandrew10 жыл бұрын
805ROADKING Things are just bigger in the USA I guess, roads are longer,straighter and wider and the traffic is faster. 50cc and 125cc bikes are common on the road in Europe!
@805ROADKING10 жыл бұрын
Yeah you wouldn't even think of taking anything under a 400cc on our interstate highways!! The average speed is 80 MPH's!!☺
@CraigArndt10 жыл бұрын
Those are torque monsters. I rode an XR500 years ago, I basically held on as best I could.
@GrussimoGarage10 жыл бұрын
Had a KLR 250 that someone donated to me. Should have left it on the truck. Rev'ed slower than most of Mikes hit n miss'es!!!
