You should have made the comparison as Triumph with the new 2023 model, (the video/pics/specs shown in the video are from the 2022 version), as there are many differences regarding styling, specs, engine, etc...

The first problem is a triple is unique in the feel and performance. After 60+ years riding and over 60 bikes owned over those years and many more ridden the Triumph is the most perfect bike I have ever owned. As I stated the feel of a triple is like none other.

Street Triple 765 RS for me. Personally I have Street Triple 765 R 2022. I prefer the old school analogue rev counter.

I don't know about anyone else but I do value fuel tank size on a motorbike is very important to me there's almost thousands of accessories you can buy for your bike yet barely anything for fuel tank capacity for modern sport bikes

Shame you didn't get to use the new 2023 street triple rs as its a totally new bike in almost every aspect from styling, engine, brakes etc That said i currently use a Triumph Trident 660 as my daily commuter & just don't think i could change to another manufacturer after experiencing the triple sound & Triumphs build quantity. Loved your up front & practical review & have just subscribed. Looking forward to seeing more in the future. Cheers from New Zealand 🇳🇿

The Kawasaki Z900 SE gives you Brembo brakes and Ohlins rear shock with revised internal front shocks. In the UK the same price as the Triumph. I find the Triumph a bit small and a bit too track focused as an every day Street bike.

The street triples also come with stainless braided brake lines from the factory, the z900 has standard rubber lines. Makes a big difference in brake feel.

Bar end mirrors look nice but get in the way for more aggressive cornering. If the ST had nicer TFT & a nicer headlight design, it’ll be the one to beat.

Not fussed with the aesthetics of either bikes tbh, can we have a Trident styled 765 against the Z900 rs please.?

I have thought that myself. The Trident is a handsome bike but not enough power to get excited.

Nice review. Another contender I think price wise is the GSXS1000. Far less expensive than the ST RS but more power and has a quick shifter whereas the Z900 does not.

I do love the 2023 stripple and i would get it if i were a track junkie, but the z is a better all-around road bike. Bigger tank, lower price, higher gvwr rating, and you can mount Shad hard panniers.

It's all a matter of taste. I prefer the rev-hungry engine to the Z900's somewhat sluggish engine. Otherwise I find the Z900 almost unbelievably good for the price. Chassis , engine, brakes Everything very very ok. Even without a Brembo. But i do not like those diesel like motorcycle engines. Mike bikes have to be kind of rev greedy

the Triumph is the clear winner. Not only is it so much more fun to own, its the reason there are these "mid-range" bikes are so popular. the Triumph Street Triple R has been the leader in this category for a long time.

Wrong, Zed is not the "correct" universal pronunciation. It is something you Australians and Canadiens are encouraged to use, eh. Next time don't screw up your comparison with a Triumph a year off as well. There was a whole new launch.

I own a 1972 z1 and it remained the fastest and easiest to use for a fue years. When I road my son's new kawasaki 900 it did 130 mph my 72 stock got 142 but the 72 was a limited amount for racing most of the difference between the two was wait just like the production model of the 73 900. Back when both will have to keep your pucker level up. Plenty of everything for THE EXPERIENCE RIDERS. To go faster than 140 is bucks and work with the platform. My 1972 had a rc engineering 1170 cc with a American turbocharger it was Dino at 152 hp i had a speeding ticket for 170 mph the fastest the helicopter was able to do. Freeways 5 was straight and two lanes and miles and miles that way. Anything over 750 is for experience rides that want to go faster than 130. That's back to the future motorcycles now are 1000 hp stock. Overkill if you ask me my 72 got really lite at 150 and wind is a factor was bad enough for the center stand hit the pavement on the right side. I cut the center stand foot bar off because it was a surprise and at that speed you don't need surprises. Another problem is the tire was v rated at 150 mph you could not find a tire above v rated. At the time most of the parts are unobtainable for the aftermarket parts. Motorcycles was my passion and still is my 1979 z1 is stock and will do anything i want . It's faster than my son's new one but it has a reve limiter and I think that is the main issue between the two. You miss a shift on the older bikes and it will cost you. I don't understand the rides on the new bikes with rev limiters flooring the engine to the limit and cutting out because of it has reached the limit, the only thing I can think of is that they are using it like a horn. The motorcycle has evolved over the years but the horns haven't the biker just make alot of noise of the motorcycle and it works well. My long time friend has a bicycle horn so the cops can't make out a ticket for no horn. The motorcycle manufacturers need to address the problem and put a real horn on the bike of today.

Z 900 is amazing value for money in Australia and why would you spend $18,000 more on the other bike when you can get a 1000 from Suzuki that would literally smash both of them so the z900 is a great bike but if you're willing to spend that little bit more get the Suzuki 1000 the Z1000 needs to be updated it's a bit of a letdown at the moment

@@ridepastu1418 I ride with a guy who has the Street triple rs. I found it to be lacking in horse power unless you rev the engine to nearly the red line. My Z900 ate his bike for lunch right from the dealership. My mod's an ECU flash done at Moore Mafia. I had a custom exhaust made for me that went from the head on the engine to the can. The can came from hotbodies racing I got the gp model. I added new levers, A steering damper, frame sliders, mirrors, new seat. The stock seat is like sitting on a brick. A cell phone mount wired to the battery to keep my phone charged. The Z900 has an app that you can change the settings for your personal riding.I dynoed the bike stock and it was 122 HP to the rear wheel. After that I got the ECU flashed, Fram hi performance air filter and my exhaust. I had it dynoed again and it make 134 HP to the rear wheel. I love my bike, I would buy it again and do all the work on it all over. It takes the twisties no problem. In a straight line I had it up to 145 MPH and still had more throttle.
