Amazing video but one thing I just want you to know is that Wilt wasn't a bad teammate that only cared for his stats. It was actually his coach who did that. Chamberlain talks about how the gameplan every game was to just give him the ball and get out the way. Hell the game he scored 100 he didn't even want to. The team kept feeding him the ball so he went with it. Once he got a new coach who taught a team first system his numbers went down but he won 2 chips.

CancaBanta it’s not just about record, guy. It’s about impact. The defensive impact he has already had on the team has made them much better, even offensively they look to Kawhi. Back when it was just DeFrozen and Lowry we all knew they wouldn’t do shit in the playoffs, but with Finals MVP Kawhi on the squad now the whole team has elevated their confidence and overall basketball play.

I absolutely detest the system player argument. It's clear people don't know how to use it properly. I've seen people call Steve Nash, Bill Russell, Tim Duncan, and even Kobe Bryant system players. The main problem is that people try to call players system players, despite the player being far and away the best player or 2nd best player on the team. To put it simply, they weren't system players, they were the system. There's a difference between being a system player for a team and being the foundation of a team.

In my opinion superstars are never system players , I think role players shine more in systems than other players . We see role players jump from team to team for a reason then the hit the right team that uses them correctly and then shine brighter than before . There’s certain role player that are made for certain schemes defensively or offensively .

Just a reminder to everyone, something Dom didn't mention : Dennis Rodman is a 2 time all star (in 1990 and 1992 well before playing with Jordan) and Horace Grant is a 1 time all star in 1994 (without Jordan). Jordan played with one other all star in the same year as him : Scottie Pippen (in 1990, 92, 93, 96, and 97). People act like Horace Grant and Dennis Rodman were superstars, but they weren't. They were good solid players..but no where close to being superstars. It's not like Chris Bosh, Dwyane Wade, and Lebron; or even Kyrie, Kevin Love, and Lebron. In both those cases, those players were clearly all superstars (whatever has happened to Love since playing with Lebron); Jordan played on solid good teams with one other superstar (Pippen). His teams were more similar to a team like the LA Clippers or LA Lakers or even the Bucks (although Pippen is certainly better than Kris Middleton) this year then to the loaded 80's Celtics or Lakers, or Boston's big 3 in '08, or Lebron's Miami team, or the Warriors. The basic difference between Jordan's Bulls and the Clips or Lakers or Bucks this year (who are good teams by the way) was that Jordan was simply..that fucking good. Y'all just in denial.

That Jordan take pisses me off so much. None of Jordan's teams were super teams. They were Jordan and pippen and excellent role players. Jordan and pippen carried those teams and guys like Kerr, kukoc, paxson, Rodman etc did what they had to do. But it was Jordan and pippen doing the majority of the work.

Wilt yes started his career not playing as a winner but that was because he had to lead his team to win because he was the only superstar then later in his career when he joined the lakers he changed his game up entirely even averaging 7+ assists per game which is one of the best passing season a big has ever had and he did this while having 20+ rebounds

The better answer to debunk Kobe’s 81 point game would be that scoring that many against those Raptors is like scoring 35 against an average team.

The first three peat Jordan Bulls were not a super team, they had two legitimate HOF level players that being Michael Jordan and Scottie Pippen and a bunch of role players. And in the second three peat it was mainly Michael and Scottie and then bunch of players who were really happy to be there and Dennis Rodman playing great defence on the opposite teams best PF or C

Your right rodman locked down pf and c and sometimes sf in a league dominated by bigman in the era it wasnt a super team it was just smart and efficient

Isaiah thomas is the best example of system player... dude can put up superstar numbers when playing in the right system built around him... but we know that he can't do that at every team he plays in...

Im not discounting what you said but wilt was efficient in his era he led the league in efficiency 10 out of 15 years in the league one year he had an nba record for it and also rest of the 5 yrs that he didnt win he was top 5 in the league

I don't see Draymond as a system player. He is a great defender so he would still have that defensive capability. And he has IQ so that would help as well

Only reason I dont know if the celtics win vs Cavs in last years playoffs is because if they had just kyrie, rozier doesnt have that great run, Tatum will still probably have his good run but I dont think brown does or rozier do because they were taking Kyries shots and they had the ball a lot more in their hands. So that series could looked a lot more different and still went 7 games but I'm just not sure tbh
