Hey Levi! Thanks for watching. We really appreciate it! Have you been fishing the Boise this fall at all?

Hey Matt, you know, there's this thing called an anchor. I use one on my Fishcat 9 when I fish small areas like that. It works well in holding you 'yak or an inflatable pontoon like mine, even in strong current. You might want to get one. lol
@OLDHATOUTDOORS3 жыл бұрын
Haha. Ya. An anchor would be nice but I doubt it would’ve held where I had that brown on. I’d probably still be chasing the kayak. 😂

You took out at the bridge off Middleton rd? Looking for an easier stretch of river to take my kayak out for the first time. I believe I have the exact same one.

Just got a kayak this summer, and haven’t used it on the Boise before or on a river in general. Is it pretty easy compared to lakes? Is there anything I would need to be particularly cautious about?
@OLDHATOUTDOORS3 жыл бұрын
What kind of kayak did you get? The Boise River is fairly safe but there's enough fast water that tipping is not out of the question.

@@OLDHATOUTDOORS I got a Lifetime Tamarack Pro. From what I could see it’s almost exactly like yours.
@OLDHATOUTDOORS3 жыл бұрын
@@phreddymacc I’d just pack anything valuable in a dry bag. Those things are great but a little too heavyweight in fast water (especially sharp bends in the river).
@rudyibarra57193 жыл бұрын
Sweet video! Were you able to paddle back to your vehicle on that stretch of the Boise?
@OLDHATOUTDOORS3 жыл бұрын
Unfortunately no. This was probably a 4 hour float downriver (including fishing). Going back up would be impossible. I'm just uploading another Boise River kayak video. It will be live tomorrow. Thanks for watching!!! kzbin.info/www/bejne/nF7Tq2lnabR5gck

So you catch a fish. Pick him up with your dry hands and carry him across land to your net? Then take him out of water to measure him?
@OLDHATOUTDOORS3 жыл бұрын
Yep. But I also stuck my fingers in its gills, put it on the stringer and then decided to release it. 😩
