Justin, the carp that had you stumped as to what it was @ the end of the video is called a *"fully scaled mirror carp."* Yeah, it's a mirror carp too! Nice work! 🙂👍

Really loving the carp content! Maybe try a long video with lite tackle, moving to catties with your catch from your crappie and blue-gill for bait. Ending it with carp catches. A 1 hr video with all three would be epic. Great work bro.

This bring back some memory's from my teenage years. We fished for carp in a canal. There wasn't enough room to run so they would jump. Getting a ten pound carp jumping clear of the water gets the blood pumping.

Mirror carp are common carp just with a genetic variation that causes unique scale patterns. So while rarer than most carp they are still the same thing.

Nothing wrong w/ the carp vids at all imo. Here in Colorado many of our lakes are over flowing with them and they can get HUGE! It’s great fishing with medium tackle for walleyes trout etc. and hooking into a 20lb carp. Can really change a fishing trip for the better.

Really love your videos! If I can make a suggestion. Your fishing for smaller carp back in the creeks. The big fish(30lbs plus) are on the main lake shallow water close to deep water. Prebait a shallow point on the main lake a few times and fish it. Bring a bigger net!! I'm continuing to watch and I can't wait to see you hook a monster!!
@KayakCatfish2 жыл бұрын
Thanks for the info! I definitely plan on hitting some main lake areas this fall when boat traffic dies down. The perk of fishing in the creeks for carp is avoiding all the pleasure boats and bass fishermen that plague the main lake.

Justin, just to plant a little seed, what do you think of this idea? Seeing all of those bait fish jumping around makes me think there might be some bigger cats, or who knows what, swimming around in the creeks, as well. I know you can't do cut bait because of the turtles, but what if you had a live bluegill swimming around under a balloon off of the back of the kayak while you were carp fishing. You never know. I appreciate you taking me fishing with you no matter what you're catching. I don't know if you remember me or not, but this is James Kelly. I have commented on some of your live streams before. I changed my channel name. Thanks again.

Carp fishing is fun, on the mirror vs common carp The mirror carp and the common carp are the same, but the mirrors have a certain gene that causes the weird scales. Kind of like hiw a black strip crappie is just a black crappie with a specific gene to get the stripe on its back

We got some pretty decent size carp and catfish here in Ohio, Indian Lake and Grand Lake St Mary's have got some really big carp in there I'm talking 30 40 lb, it would really be awesome if you were ever in Ohio to hit the Ohio River it's the boundary between Ohio and Kentucky but right below that bridge and just passed the dam there are some monsters that hang out down there. As a matter of fact there's a story about the Ohio River Bridge, I'll give you the short version the rest you might have to look into, but some years back there was a big flood and they had to send some divers down there below the bridge to remove some trees and other obstructions from the pilings down there and one of the divers happened to look out in front of him and there appeared to be what looked like two giant headlights that were spaced about 3 ft apart, and they couldn't figure out what this was until it got close enough to see that it was a monstrous catfish big enough to swallow a man, and they got out of there pretty quick
@douglasmedlin71592 жыл бұрын
That maybe another subspecies called a leather carp. Done some research some german monks in the 1800s bread them that way to make them easier to clean. The 2nd one is a mirror its is just young even though its big.
