Kayne's Decision (Kayne Episode 6)

Kayne is diagnosed with a DIPG brain tumor, for which the median survival rate is nine months. He is now on month ten.
He has decided to sign a DNR (do not resuscitate) so that the burden of this decision will not fall on his loved ones. Now Kayne is attending college and hopes to show others that cancer cannot beat him if he continues to push forward.
Let's join together in showing Kayne we support him unconditionally as he travels this difficult road.

Kayne’s parents traveled from Florida to live in a house beside LSU. Although they have never mentioned it to me I am sure this entire situation has been financially draining. Everybody, if this man's story changes you in any way...consider what you can do to fundraise for DIPG research...a disease like this deserves more research. Much, much more Neil Armstrong, astronaut on the first mission to the moon, had a daughter with DIPG - not much change in treatment since then! This must change! The way he said “I felt bad for my mom and dad because they don’t want to see me in that situation” after talking about giving permission for dnr really stuck with me, I just can’t fathom how someone in his position was able to be so selfless and still think about others before himself. It’s crazy to think someone I never met had such a huge impact on me and how I see life and death. I still always think about some of the things he’s said and the way he handled his situation and I often come back to watch his videos for his intelligence and insight. RIP Kanye♥️

OMG. I'm in tears, I discovered your channel no more than a couple of days ago, I have a Borderline and Bipolar diagnosis since I was 16 and now I'm 29, but God, your videos have helped me so much to understand and appreciate the meaning of life. By the time this kid was dying, I was probably immersed in drug abuse, depression and letting my time fly away like nothing. I was just focused in things that does not really matter in life. I was losing my so precious life. I have caused a lot of harm to my body and brain through all these year, but man Now I can see the lucky I am to at least have the chance to live. to have a family, a job, friends, a home. To know that even though there are obstacles and even if I fall down, I know that there will always be a new chance, a new opportunity for me. How I wish I could have given this child some of my Physical health, so he could have lived more time. I truly appreciate these kind of help for people with disabilities and metal illnesses, Thank you Chris Ulmer! You are awesome. And I'm so happy I can write this comment on your videos. I filled the petition to reestablish them.

This is really hard to see as someone who actually won the battle against Cancer in March 2020 as a 21 year old. I am so happy i get to spend more years and time with my family and it makes me really sad this wonderful guy didnt get that same opportunity. It's hard watching this because all I do is think about dying 24/7. I've got Cerebral Palsy, I'm quadriplegic so I'm pretty much stuck in my wheelchair. I don't think about dying because of my disability, I think about it because of the recovery process I put myself down a lot and I'm fighting depression and anxiety. Have seen all kayne's videos so many times and still can't believe how great he was. I just can't. I could scream and scream and scream. Why him? And I try to imagine how I would have gone through this. With anger, hatreed, depression, feeling sorry for myself and withdraw from everyone, hating them all for being healthy and happy. The only explanation I can give to myself is that he was here to teach through his death, like jesus, who accepted the inevitable and tried to make us better till the last second of his life. I hope you are there with him kayne.
