Hi from the Deep South, USA! Thanks for the excellent reviews! This air rifle is made by SAG, Shanghai Air Gun (Gongxi Machinery). Here in the States, it is badged as the Beeman Chief (Beeman split ownership years a go and there are 2 Beeman companies now.) It is the pcp son of the venerable Beeman qb78 co2 rifle. Both are copies of the magnificent Crosman 160 co2 rifle (that's the Benjamin vibe you were getting). The trigger is very nice and can be tuned with a ballpoint pen spring and some adjustments. There is an Allen wrench power adjustment at the rear if the action, too (stock power is way too high, IMO). The barrels are usually very good. SAG expects their rifles to sit for years, so they put packing grease in the barrels. A good clean is a must for best accuracy. IMO, this is the best budget pcp on the market and it rivals very expensive pcp's in accuracy once it is tuned and the valve has broken in.

Aha, so my Benjamin vibes were correct... that's quite a heritage, though! All the way up north here our guns are limited to 10J / ~7.6FPE, so normally are at a sweetspot for ... "less intense" guns like this one. Do you have any idea around the power levels you found to be suitable? I've been having a great time with it, and being low-power, the air lasts a while, which is GREAT considering the heat we're having (well, for us, anyway). Thank you so much for your comment, and I'm glad you're enjoying my (lack of) style of videos.

I picked one up at the discount section of my local Jula yesterday at half price off since it was a return. Expected a lemon since it was returned but its perfect. Best airgun deal I've even had lol.

Isn't that the best? Because even if it's not working, it's such a simple rifle that it's pretty easy to fix! I'm so happy for you!

These look like a cross between a Benjamin Discovery (lower) and an XS78 (upper) which i think was evolved from a Crosman 160 made in China?

Ah yeah, the Discovery is even mentioned in the user manual for this. Seems that Europe refers to it as the "Maximus Wildfire", but the plain "Wildfire" is a totally different thing in the States. support.crosman.com/hc/article_attachments/115002233486/E-BPM-515.pdf

Is this the same as a Beeman rifle?
@MyAirgunPhase Жыл бұрын
Not terribly sure which one you mean, but it's exactly the same as a Crosman Benjamin Maximus Wildfire rifle, for what it's worth?

It indeed is a version of the Beeman Chief.

Picked one up on sorts of a dare. As you note, 177cal only. Thing here tho is that i´ve had the chance to rip into both this Chief as well as the Stormrider and the truth of the matter is that altho the latter sports a mag and in turn a trigger that can be adjusted way better than this Jula thing the issue is.. The Kayoba is beyond a doubt built from better materials. Not only that but also better designed in areas as well. Like the retention of the valve for instance.. the Stormrider has its valve made out of what seems reused aluminium foil while the Beeman copy here.. way better. Maching done way better. Sharp tools has been used, which can NOT be said for all the Stormriders out there. Nah. No offense but i honestly find this Chief rip off the better gun. I really do.

Yeah, it feels like a nice solid gun, indeed! I've not tried a Stormrider yet, but I do have a Bandit pistol equivalent, and it shoots just fine, but yup, agree on the quality! Well, as always, I'm just glad you found something you like, and I hope you have loads of fun!
