So I tried the KCLIP on a solo, classical piano from the Halion 6 synth. David, I cannot even believe how ALIVE that instrument sounded! I never thought that a clipper would enhance such a complex instrument like a piano. My settings were: in/out gain matched at +/-12dB, tape mode, 80% soften. Thank you SO MUCH for introducing me to this amazing plugin! At $24.99, it's a steal! I've been a university educator for 17 years (not music, but biology!) and you are a superb teacher. All of your videos have helped me tremendously!

Love the fact that you review great plugins like KClip Pro and MJUC, made by small companies and easily worth many times what we pay for them. I have plugins by Waves, Ozone, and SoundToys, but I love it when I find these little gems ... Thanks

At your urging David I bought the K-Clip and have become a disciple. I have downloaded k-clip2 as it was free to me and I am looking forward to using it.

dope tutorials! ive heard you mention you take consideration of transients during the mix before kclip, what do you mean by this? make the mix transient heavy because they will be shaved by kclip?
@bitflux28 жыл бұрын
yes please! the confusion of taking care of transients at the mix or mastering stage has haunted me for years

wanna buy this plugin. cos have not been able to get that loudness on my master track, so after the Kclip then i can add a limiter to get that -4db EDM LOUDNESS ?
@AngeloMM886 жыл бұрын
Hi David i'm a bit confused about this application, do you use this before or after the mastering ?

If I produce dance music and my clap kick are creating small spikes would it be a good thing to use a plugin like this on my drum bus shaving of a db or so? Maybe better to use on the clap only? How would you suggest setting this plugin up on the drum bus for light transient control? Would this be an ideal plugin to use for this process? Sorry for so many questions. You rock dude.

Why using a limiter after clipping?
@marmadukewinterbotham25996 жыл бұрын
I don't understand the purpose of the rd and white signal graphics - they look the same to me. What information is being imparted here?
@marmadukewinterbotham25996 жыл бұрын
Yes, I gathered that. It's just that for most of the time they look the same.

Good review! After several instances using the tape function can become a CPU drain but really good plugin.
@KazrogPlugins8 жыл бұрын
Thanks! Some bug fixes and enhancements are in the works, including an economy setting to alleviate CPU usage during monitoring without much (if any) audible difference.

Great video, great plug in I also own it, , I would like to know if you have compared it to the STANDARD CLIP FROM SIR AUDIO TOOLS ? Most say it is a superior plugin compared to the kclip, i'd love your opinion

I got myself this plugin today after watching this and after a few quick tests with it I think it's awesome! Tried on single tracks and master buss and it seems great. Looking forward to trying it out more, and my next purchase will be URS saturation after seeing your video on that. Can I ask a question about KClip - do you use the guard function at all? Still just getting my head around that one.
@clintonmaher69308 жыл бұрын
MixbusTV Yes that helps thanks. I was going to ask that actually - if I have say a snare with some light EQ, light compression and maybe light verb, where would you use the KClip in that chain? First or last? I've been spending my time trying a lot of your techniques lately to build on my knowledge and get my mixes at that next level, but honestly the one area I'm sometimes unsure of is the correct order of things in the plugin chain.
@clintonmaher69308 жыл бұрын
MixbusTV Thanks for the insight and the quick reply as always. I'm remixing one of my songs after getting the KClip and URS saturation plugins and they are making a huge difference to punch and volume.
@clintonmaher69308 жыл бұрын
MixbusTV If you are using KClip in this way during mastering would you avoid using in the mix too? (on things like kick or snare) or would you just keep the use minimal in the mix?

Hi, David! Thank you for the awesome video! I just got KClip Pro 2, and my VST Performance meters are peaking with just 3 instances at 32x oversampling. How do you set your oversampling for individual tracks and busses? All at x32 or only x32 for the master bus?

when adjusting the output gain should I set to the corresponding clipped gain or just set it back to zero? like if the meter says the audio is clipping 5 db should i set the output to -5 or 0?
@kaiotvi7 жыл бұрын
on the kclip, where it says " out gain" should this be at 0 after getting your desired processed signal? Or should it be set to the opposite of the clipped DBs
@kaiotvi7 жыл бұрын

Tried v1 and compared it to iZotope Ozone, Fabfilter Pro-L, Fruity Waveshaper and Fruity Soft Clipper. Found no use for it next to those plugins. What am I missing here?
@miialamia16538 жыл бұрын
Ozone has a very nice tuneable "intelligent maximizer", like theaudiospotlight.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/12/izotope-ozone7-standalone-maximizer-full.png - saturation you could add as a separate processing stage before that, along with the eq, multiband comp & stereo field stuff. Gotta check out this KClip and see how it compares.

This thing... i badly want it on my master...
@deanc20008 жыл бұрын
But this is not a limiter, right? This is a clipper, so it puts saturation on the distorted clips.
