Does having an old and worn t-mount can cause the engine block to jerk or move when applying brake? I notice when I apply brake on stop light I notice a sudden movement underneath my tacoma.

Yes, I've seen worn t-mounts crack 70% through. Therefore, the motor mounts take more of the load and can cause movement. Replace the T-mounts first because they're easier then recheck. If there's still movements, then replace your motormounts too

Just wondering what made you replace this. Im hearing a weird vibration i know isnt a u joint or hub. I hear the noise when im idling. It gets louder as i shift gears but goes down once shifted. It also gets louder when i brake stops once the car stops. Cant hear it while driving.

I replaced it because I would here a thud/clank when I stop and go.. It sounds like you may have a wheel bearing wear

@@KFloTacoma bone stock except for new u joints center shaft bearing. Truck used to be smooth as a titty. Going back to shop tomorrow to run on lift. Any thoughts would be appreciated .

I know there was a TSB on 2nd gens regarding vibes. Check your vin for any recalls first. Then i would suggest watching my Tacoma Vibes video and follow the steps there

My 96 Tacoma had a huge vibration issue at high speeds. After wasting time replacing u-joints, I discovered it was actually a brake issue. After replacing the front rotors and calipers, the vibration magically disappeared! Could also be tires, but that much more expensive. If the latter, I guess you could try swapping a spare in (or even just rotating them) to see if the vibration source changes. Also try getting tires re-balanced before replacing them.

I have a 2009 4wd tacoma double cab. 2.5" lift I did new wheel hubs, cv axles, upper/lower control arms, new ball joints, new brakes, new rotors, new tie rides, T-case drop, tom woods custom rear one piece drive shaft, new rims new tires, no wheel spacers and I still have vibration at 35-45 and at 65-75 range. Its driving me crazy! Makes me want to drive this truck off a cliff and forget about. Does anyone have suggestions or a clue to might it might be? Thanks in advance!

Read above.... my vibrations on my 96 Taco were fixed after I replaced my front brake rotors and calipers. Yeah, I had wasted much time/$ doing u-joints.

How did you know your bushing was bad? How much play in the bushing is to much?

It's really more based on the damage on the rubber portion of the mount (visual inspection on dry rot and cracks) as well as popping noises (in the undercarriage area) when you hit bumps

Can you not replace the transmission mount without taking the support beam off

No, the transmission mount has a nub that physically goes into the center of the cross beam.

Joe Slow i didn’t catch why he had to but ive had to replace them before on other trucks because the rubber bushing was dry rotted and or just broke

This is a series of videos for replacing the clutch. Since I had to pull out the transmission completely, i just replaced the transmission mount. They are cheap anyways ~$50. In general, they do wear out and that rubber (as @kj willard says) do dry rot.
