Thank you for this tutorial. I wait so long this kind of tutorial to do a wind tunnel with Blender.

Lol classic naming system. Thanks very useful. Would you know a way to make this simulation like an actual CFD simulation? With earth gravity and properties of air applied to the smoke?

The simulations are awesome, but I wish it could get GPU accelerated.

cool tutorial easy to follow

it was the surface colour looking at, volume is the texture you needed to go to. also the size of objects and domain are important to the simulation, sometimes making everything bigger default sizes can make a big difference to how it performs, keep things are real sizes and you should get more realistic results. also adding noise and other things can produce more effects

so smaller sizes for better performance?

4:52 how come the smoke coming out of the cubes has a smaller volume than before?
@k0walsk3 күн бұрын
It's the Surface emission setting in the flow object's physics tab.

I just wish we could get somewhat accurate wind tunnel testing with Blender, where the smoke effects itself.

Try to play around with the settings a bit! You can also look into Ember-Gen as an alternative!

There is actually a few tutorials in blender using geometry nodes for that

my simulation is not appearing in the render view, How do I fix that?

Did you apply the volume shader to the domain?

Oddly, when I click on my cubes and add the cloth physics NOTHING changes in the viewport... They don't become transparent and show a smoke cloud like yours does. Also, my domain doesn't show that little cube in the corner that you pointed out.... Do I need to apply something somehow?
@meatlegproductions23 күн бұрын
ok, I figured it out: I was setting up my objects in frame ZERO but nothing starts happening until frame one... Duh.... 😆

Is there a way it make the smoke thinner. Mine are too thick and just combining into one big smoke. And yes, I increased resolution divisions to 500
@KennyPhases4 ай бұрын
You can descrease the size of your smoke-flow. So you can go into edit mode and make the objects emitting smoke SMALLER, that should work!

I definitely did something wrong as for the first 5 frames its smooth and then the smoke just goes very turbulency and doesn't give any proper results at all.

Try turning down your "vorticity" value in your domain settings and see if that helps!

Now I’m wondering how it would be with fire instead

Try it out!

@@KennyPhases I did my first test yesterday. It’s like two seconds long. I’m gonna upload it to TikTok and tag you.
