In my opinion, Keanu Reeves' character is actually better suited to be introduced into the Star Wars universe through the medium of video games rather than live-action. Through digital media, a character's complete history can be told without worrying about the real actor's age, and the interactivity is unparalleled.

Disney missed a trick. They could have offered him a bit part in the first season of the Acolyte, and then scheduled him for a major roll in season two. Just a couple of scenes of him on a cool side-quest with the promise of a later return. I'm pretty sure the fanbase would be hyped for a second season after that.

@@simonallen4660 that’s completely fine, to me the acolyte just fell flat with its focus. Not sure why when you have super interesting characters like darth plageius active who we haven’t seen in live action ever and you choose to focus on randoms we have never heard of (Qimir, Osha, Maye, ect). The writing and dialogue were also issues but this can be overcome if they managed to get the audience bought in (an easy way to do this is to introduce characters that the audience already cares about and make them true to why the audience cares about them in the first place). Obviously this all opinionated but I feel that if acolyte focused on something like sidious’s training under plaguies or Plaguies’s training under tenebrous that would’ve been much more interesting and likely more successful

Revan was not Suppose to be where Bane was in that part of the clone wars. It is when they are on The Force planet with The Force gods. The Son goes to the Dark side Nexus (were he converts Anakin to the dark side) The Son was consulting Darth Bane and Darth Revan. Lucas excluded it because he didnt want dark siders having an afterlife. I dont like it because it implies that Revan was never redeemed.

I can pretty easily accept the idea that people of the modern Star wars era don't properly remember the events and geopolitics 1000 years ago. I mean how many people today can tell you about the state of the real world 100 years ago let alone 1000

It is a common problem of teaching history. The longer you go the more you have to speed teach through parts of it as you don't have enough time to cover more than a few of the most important events, eras, or persons. Heck, university professors may only specialize on a few decades in a specific part of the world and even then they aren't necessarily an expert on all the history of that era. Even if a society tries hard to teach history to the youth, teaching 25,000 years of history well to any school child without some kind of memory augmentation to retain it, would be a near impossible task. If you can get them to factually remember a few key wars and maybe a few key chancellors from more than a few hundred years ago, you have actually accomplished a lot, because it is just as likely what they remember is some tale their crazy uncle told them at a family gathering that has no basis in fact (Wrong battle, wrong era, wrong chancellor, wrong place, but your great granpappy (x25) fought there).

Thank you. A portion of the fan base do not want change in this franchise. IMO if they did anything on The Old Republic, it should be in video game format again or animation. The battles would be expensive in live action & after The Acolyte, Disney is probably going to be more mindful of their budget.

ok my only concern with making a show or a movie in the old republic days. is that what ever they make would become cannon. personally when i played a sith in swtor (Star Wars: The Old Republic). i all-ways played them as light side sith and would some times get snarky/toxic comments about how there's are no good sith when all i was doing was having fun and exploring what the game gave me. i feel that making parts of that time period cannon could make the toxic part worse due to giving the toxic people more ammo. i mean to be fair if they gave use quote unquote "good sith" they probable say that Disney is running it all anyways. would like if they bout the idea of making a light saber crystal throw the force back as a ancient technetium lost to time.

Revan, Bastila and the entire Shan family is a very interesting part of the Lore. Revan and Bastila don't follow the celibacy rule, start a family and legacy of extremely powerful jedi and all of them completely ignores the council and continues to screw around and have kids. The Jedi always welcome the forbidden Shan kids into the order because they are usually top tier powerful. Even the low sensitivity Shan kids end up as republic spys.

Star Wars Galaxies and Kotor I & II are what really turned me into a huge SW fan. It's a damn shame we haven't seen anything from the Old Republic era yet. Hell, I'd take anything with more than a couple force users in it at this point. IMO, Qimir being the first sith we have got since Maul is pretty sad. Would love to see a series or movie with some really powerful Jedi/Sith. If it was up to me I would do a Samurai Seven style movie based in a time when Sith are ruling and have a young force user find and assemble a cast of ronin jedi/sith to defeat the big bad.

Here's an idea: How about a Skywalker " Roots." set in the High Republic? Surely the Skywalker family line didn't start with Anakin's mother. Maybe Shimi's ancestors did some exciting things in and for the galaxy. That would be a fitting compromise between those rabid fans of the Skywalker family and those that would like to see Star Wars explore other paths. I personally, would love to see Qimir, Osha and Mae encounter a Skywalker. And, remember that Qui-Gon noted that Shimi also shone with the Force. It's possible that the Force was making things move in that family, long before Anakin was born.

I would love to see in the next sequel movie or tv show, the heroes get sold out by a farmer they befriend who gives the justification "A man can have anything if he is willing to sacrifice.". Tease Tenebrae/ Vitiate/ Valkorion but leave it at that. Could be a good testing of waters for bringing old republic content back into canon.

He'd definitely make a good Jedi character if they had the right place to put him. The man already does well with choreography since he actually has practical training in fighting, he has the right personality for certain sorts of character that could easily fit into a lot of stories, and having his face on anything would help with partially countering the bad reputation Star Wars has recently. The only major concern would be the right people making anything they put Reeves in. The unfortunate pattern of most stuff outside animation being either bad or a mix of good and bad parts doesn't get me excited for future releases so much. The most interesting thing known to be planned is Ahsoka season 2, and that's almost entirely because of the potential appearance of Abeloth who has never been on a screen in anything official.
