Just finished welding both chassis out riggers on a friend's Landrover 90. They were in a shocking state Keep all your old screws,bolts,washers etc in a plastic bucket. When you need something tip the contents of the bucket onto a plastic sheet, spread it out and when you have found what you need gather the corners of the sheet up and pour the screws etc back into the bucket ready for next time. Regarding the Grenadier, the Welsh assembly spent a fortune on the old Ford engine site in Bridgend for the Grenadier to be built there. Mercedes closed their Smart car plant in France and the Grenadier is now going to be made in France. I wonder if we were staying in Europe would they have built it in Wales?

The trailer lamp on the dash should flash once with no trailer plug connected and flash when the trailer plug is connected in unison with the other flashers.

Nothing better than an old Landy for farm work. The Grenadier isn’t going to be the cheap farm hack everybody thinks.
@Sooty4 жыл бұрын
The Grenadier is going to be another Chelsea Tractor . Not a work horse like the Landy's. Parts on a Landy easy to replace. Many years ago I was Transport Corporal in the St. John Ambulance and we had a new Landrover Ambulance donated to our Division. All vehicles within the St John Ambulance have to be blessed by a vicar before they are used . But we used ours before this occasion. A Moto X event ( lots of mud and hills ) I was the driver of the new vehicle and it slipped down a hill right into a cattle feeder .. oops outcome dent on a panel . And in two weeks time we had the blessing of the vehicle. Dont panic Mr Manwaring . I'm quite handy with tools and hammer . Most of the body parts are riveted on . So with a bit of drilling of taking out rivets and the panel and flattering it and painting it looked like new .. Happy Days and vicar blessed new Ambulance. So moral of this story is you cannot beat a Landrover for fixing and repairing .

I don't think the Grenadier is going to be a Chelsea Tractor. It is being designed to have a hose out interior. As for the price, the original Land Rover was never cheap brand new but people knew the depreciation was low so still worth buying. Looking at the speck for the Grenadier I think it is going to be one of the lowest depreciation vehicles going.

I think the trailer light goes off how much current the lights are drawing. If you have the left or right indicator on you'll have 3 bulbs flashing, front, rear and side, but when you have a trailer on you'll have an extra 1 or 2 bulbs flashing, so more current is needed to light them and therefore a threshpredecessors If I was you I would set the threshold with the either the left or right indicator on, not hazards, then if you are only indicating, you can see if the trailer is drawing more power or not. It will then flash if you have hazards on without a trailer, but it's something you'd have to decide for yourself. I think the trailer indicator light flashes when you first indicate because a higher current is initially sent to the lights to ensure that they start flashing, or a greater current builds up before the lights momentarily until the resistance of the bulbs is over come, then it settles down once they all start flashing. A similar thing happens with out Massey Ferguson 390T when we indicate. The first flash is always a little bit longer for us. I think it's just a feature of vehicles that rely entirely on relays and the like to control current flow etc.

I'd bet if you had a Haynes manual for that it would say if you haven't stabbed yourself at least once with a screwdriver changing that unit, you haven't done it right L.O.L. There is a Landy channel run by an English guy here in Canada thats been talking about the Grenadier and the BMW stuff. Maybe they've finally realized it's a half baked "Chelsea tractor" and half the countries where Landys it's trying to replace were sold won't have a foggy clue what to do with a BMW engine. Let alone have a dealer network for it, when it pukes with modern day mechanical /electrical problems. The old Landy could be fixed by anyone with some mechanical ability and a bit of luck judging by the state of some of them round the world in the third world places and farm yards in slightly better equipped places to L.O.L. I'd bet in 60 years if parts and fuel was available yours could still be running , that Grenadier 15 years it would probably have more issues than it was worth trying to fix it and no parts for some of it to. Thanks for the video , take care.
