I work in Cisco TAC now, but before that I was doing this kind of work in smaller businesses. I have that exact fluke tester/tone generator. I miss the hands on of cleaning up racks, running and terminating cables and patch panels...but it’s better on this side for sure. I’ll have to get my home lab on to satisfy the itch. This is the great content the beginner networking community needs!! Keep it up Jermey, you’re the best!!!

would really like to know how you guys connect the cables to the right port for cable management?

I notice the fiber port is not covered. I am just wondering should this port be covered all the time just for eye safety?

great videos... When you generated tone on data cable in suite 4 and then walked to suite 1 to check tone.... You changed dress shirt? Is that a requirement? 😉

I’m digging this and the previous cabling series. I’m really confused about one detail of this scenario, though. I am getting the impression that these are separate businesses renting these suites, not one business that is expanding into multiple suites. If that is correct, why are we connecting them? (If incorrect, why did I think this??)

Nice video! Please can you tell me How will i connect 4 different IDFs to the MDF ? what i dont understand is that the 4 uplinks ports on the core switches will not be enough. Is it ok if i use the normal fastethernet or gig ports?
@JoaoSilva-gs5jb4 жыл бұрын
If you can't upgrade or 100mbps is enough, you gotta uplink every IDF core switches multiplied by the number of core switches on the MDF.

Great tutorial. What certification do I need for this? I passed CCNA certification in R&S a few months ago.

I’m confused as to why you’re not just stacking the core switches. This would allow you to LAG the links back to the access switches. You could then not have to worry about STP.
@Viatto4 жыл бұрын
The core switches this client has do not support stacking. And you’re right, that would be a much more elegant solution.

WHY WHY WHY would you stuff all that cable into the cable tray VS making it into a cable bundle in the back of the cabinet?

Wow...safety third eh. To be a pro, you have to really be a pro am bring all needed tools, like a ladder! Bad example for the dummies that follow without discernment.
