After leaving Glacier National Park and dropping Tori off at the airport, we began our unplanned drive east across Montana and North Dakota. Sometimes no reservations can be exhausting! We arrived to Makoshika State Park at 9:45 pm to find all the sites were taken. We called ahead, but cars must have pulled in last minute. So we ended up making dinner in the Disc Golf parking lot and then spending the night at an RV park before making our way to Medora Campground. We were unable to see the infamous Medora Musical and partake in the Pitchfork Steak Fondue, but we still enjoyed our 3 days in Medora, ND. That's the purge valve button. It's used to purge the air from the cylinder until it's filled with water. Some units I've seen it's yellow, green, white, and even black. Safe, and happy travels!

It's their fleas that carry the plague so it's not just the praire dogs themselves. Keep Charlie on a short leash in those areas. Some boondocking areas SW of Badlands have signs posted about not allowing pets in the area due to the plague.

I really love the long video - and I love this content very refreshing. I was reminded of camping in a Scamper Pop up Trailer in a tornado 50 miles away and the hugh hail storm we got. That pelting sound brought back those great memories. Camping with my Mom and Dad. That had to be 35 years ago. When my dad would get 13 week vacations and we traveled the US. Thanks for the memories. This is the reason I always did camping with my nephews as they were growing up to share in the camping and exploring experience. With all the camping I did I was able to see 46 of the 50 states and Most of Canada and parts of Mexico. The day to day activities you shared this video is so much better. I love seeing the Family content just as much as seeing the places you explore. I love it.

@@wbhandy No, prairie dogs are not whistle pigs.....they are nasty rodents to us. Prairie dogs are herbivorous burrowing rodents native to the grasslands of North America. The five species are: black-tailed, white-tailed, Gunnison's, Utah, and Mexican prairie dogs. They are a type of ground squirrel, found in North America. Ground hogs and marmots are sometimes called whistle pigs.

That Ice Shanty on wheels was the coolest thing I have ever seen. Can you imagine if they had these at the time they filmed the movie 'Dirty Old Men" with Jack Lemon and Carl Malden what kind of antics would have been put into that movie. I can just see it now. No mid roll ads here (using Opera browser) so gtg! Interesting day to day life OTR with your family. Those critters are Prairie Dogs, and some villages can house as many as 2,000,000 of them! Expect to see a LOT of them in the central US as they are THE most prolific form of life on the prairie. What surprises me about your rig is that you don't have an oven. I have to have an oven as I bake a lot of bread, so it's an essential part of RV life for us. Also, is your microwave also a convection type? Your drone footage was awesome, but I hope you don't get into trouble near the NPS units as they apparently are no longer allowed within the parks per se. I also noticed that you don't use a Fastway Flip Jack Foot on your rig (makes setup a whole lot easier imho) so is that a preference, or is there something about Airstreams I'm ignorant about? Great info, even when just showing your daily life in transit! Safe, and happy travels!

I live in Duluth and we were totally in Medora last week! It’s like you’re following us or something! There is sooooo much to do in northern MN. Duluth is great and the North Shore is stunning. There is TONS of biking and hiking all around here. If you come through Duluth, go to Va Bene for fabulous Italian food and be sure to visit Duluth Pack for the best packs, bags and purses in the world! Watch the ships come in under the famous lift bridge (one of two in the world - the other is somewhere in France) Beware, though, it is cold here. Lake Superior is so beautiful but also so cold! Even when it’s 90 degrees, there is a chill on the breeze. Bring a sweatshirt!

I'm a full-timer from Minnesota and those Ice Castles, Ice Cabins, or just Fish Houses. They've really become popular in Minnesota and Wisconsin the last few years. People put them on the ice from mid-December through February. The rest of the year it's an RV. There has been an explosion of places that are pseudo RV parks, where they can have a dedicated spot to store the Ice Castle, but enough space to get to use it as a summer getaway. Usually only electric and maybe porta potties are provided. But the people that congregate there are some of the best people in the world.

Loved this episode! We had one trip where we had no running water (split piece of PEX), no propane (and it was COLD), no steps (we brought the new StepAbove steps to install, but we had the wrong size), and the electric space heater gave up the ghost. And it was still a great trip!

I'm not an rv'r yet. I'm usually as careful as I can be so I have a suggestion. Maybe when you have to stop traffic or anything to do with cars and RVs. How about using safety reflective vests?

I learned that lesson in around 1996-97...... we are *STILL* looking for that cordless phone that my Dad placed on the trunk-lid of the family Pontiac Bonneville. I got your notification, but it was late in the day. I also wanted to say those little rodents are prairie dogs. They are actually kind of cute, don’tcha think? Loved your video today. Really enjoy seeing the ups and downs of full timing. It’s real because I’m a full timer too, so I know exactly what you are talking about. I consider it part of the experience, and nothing has ever made us say never. Just keep on trekking. It will all work out. In reading what I wrote I realized you guys aren’t actually full timers, but you are on the road for long periods of time so are having a pretty true experience. Again, loved this video and your boys and Charlie. He’s a beautiful dog. I’m partial to labs of any color. Give him a hug from me. Will look forward to your next adventure.

As a retired couple, we just purchased a new camper!!!!! We have had lake houses, campers, tents..... But we also camped Now we plan to RV, camp, Blm and use all the apps that have been provided by you. Look out world here we come.
