Excellent news Kee, great to see someone is finally making N2 and N2 Regulators easy to get. Keep up the great work. Cheers.

when i tighten the regulator down as far as it goes, it activates some safety valve or something and no more flow... i have to undo the regulator somewhat to the bottle otherwise nothing flows. is this normal - makes me nervous that its going to leak not being tight....

How to disconnect regulator from the cylinder?
@googleuser47764 жыл бұрын
Hey guy, do we need to mix co2 with the nitrogen? I've heard its called "beer gas" which is a mix of both nitrogen and co2. Is this that or is it just pure nitrogen?
@KegLand3 жыл бұрын
Some pubs do use beer gas to dispense Nitro beers. We have found that pre carbonating at 4 to 5 psi with CO2 and then dispensing at 35 psi on pure Nitrogen works for us.

Hi just got your kegerator and N2. Still abit confused how it all works. Do I carb with c02 then unhook hen put n2 on for serving?

When I tighten the knob on top of the regulator, nitrogen flows through the black outlet (pressure relief valve?) and not the low pressure outlet. I feel as if I'm doing something wrong..

Yes sounds like you have something going wrong here. Best if you email us with a video and some photos.

Looking at doing 10L or so of espresso martini in a 19L corny. Should I purge remaining oxygen and then force carbonate for a few days before pouring? What pressure should I force carbonate vs dispensing pressure? Thanks

Hi, I have a question about using a keg system to prepare Nitro Coffee using a 4-kilogram nitrogen gas cylinder with a pressure of 40psi What quantity can I prepare until the nitrogen gas cylinder becomes empty?"
@KegLand Жыл бұрын
Unfortunately not that much. Unlike CO2 nitrogen is not liquified so it's not stored as dense in the cylinder. As a result you can expect 1 nitrogen cylinder to get you about 1 or 2 corny kegs.

Do you need to carbonate a stout before attaching the N2? Or just fresh from the fermentation? And if so, whats a good CO2 volume for a stout when using the nitro?
@canadianbrewer6 жыл бұрын
1 volume.
@KegLand5 жыл бұрын
yes ideally a stout would have a small amount of CO2 dissolved into solution as well. so if you use a pressure rated fermenter like the FermZilla then the amount of CO2 from the fermentation process will be enough. Otherwise you might need to add a small amount of co2 with a gas cylinder.

Do you need to carbonate your beer before attaching this set up to your keg? I currently bottle my beer but want to do nitros. My impression was that I need to upgrade to forced CO2 carbonation in a keg and then nitro to serve (big upgrade). I'm hoping I can just add sugar to the keg and serve with this set up. What is the cheapest and easiest way to go?
@KegLand Жыл бұрын
It reallyh comes down to your recipe. A small amount of dissolved CO2 is generally desirable but how much depends on the recipe. Some beers will have more than enough residual co2 left over from the fermentation process.
@suwirwong3 жыл бұрын
what is the preasure to use on N2? do we also use CO2?
@KegLand3 жыл бұрын
We have had the best results going with about 4 psi of CO2 to carbonate and then 35 psi of Nitrogen to dispense.

@@KegLand how long do you carbonate with CO2 at 4psi for, then how long does it need to be on NItrogen at 35psi?

I have seen in another video to get a corny keg lid with a carbonation stone. Thoughts on this?

Its probably a good idea for me to do a nitro video with the carbonation stone too. We have not done this yet.

So is it fine to just put the nitrogen cylinder inside the kegerator if you have a CO2 line occupying the hole in the back of the fridge?
@KegLand5 жыл бұрын
Yes this is no problem at all.
@Kwin94 жыл бұрын
How do you regulate the pressure? When I turn the handle it only affects the high pressure gauge.
@KegLand3 жыл бұрын
The black knob on the regulator controls the low pressure side.

Any advice on pressures and method to carb your 2l kegs?
@KegLand5 жыл бұрын
It comes down to personal preference. What we do is chill the liquid to 2C, pressurise to 30psi, shake the keg for about 30 seconds, then pour.
@tomdixon98035 жыл бұрын
Will I lose gas if I leave the regulator connected to the cylinder? I'm using it to pour a couple of nitrogen cold brews each morning and have been disconnecting the regulator each day.
@KegLand5 жыл бұрын
If you do a leak test to ensure you have no leaks then it should be fine. But as a precaution we generally tell people to disconnect it.
@elfillari2 жыл бұрын
Any of these disposable cylinder regulators would not stand the 110 bar pressures, so it is essential not leave the regularor connected to the cylinder to avoid the leaking and emptying the gas out of that container! I repeat: ANY!

Surely this is a 70/30 mix???
@KegLand5 жыл бұрын
This mix is 100% Nitrogen. Most of our customers do already have CO2 cylinders. So you can use your co2 cylinder to dissolve some co2 into solution then use nitrogen to dispense this is what some of our customers do with some success.

@@KegLand I was thinking the same, you said this will last about 2 cornies, but is that calculated with the 70/30 mix, i need a bit more explanation on that please!
