Greens are more interesting as they are building bases at council level to challenge in General elections. They are more likely to endure. That said, I hope the Independents do well, and we should do what we can to help. Win or lose, every vote Feinstein, and others, take matters. Post this election, there needs to be some serious discussions as to how to build a lasting movement. I think we should consider uniting around the Greens. They are a democratic organisation, policies and emphasis can be changed, local parties select candidates, and importantly they have the structures in place and National recognition. Why reinvent the wheel over often false perceptions of each other, a few current policy differences and often inflated egos. We are the true, pure left and all that.

My family worked entirely in medicine and education for the black community, spoke Zulu fluently and it is only now that the wheel has turned full circle. We SAicans have every reason to be proud of the ICC case and the survival of that bond of warmth, above all. All the motivated reasoning that decries his work as anti-Semitic completely ignores the origin of symbology from Animals to The Final Cut and beyond. I have a dear friend who’s been communicating with an Israeli whose kids are IDF soldiers. My friend keeps blaming everything on Hamas via her friend’s reports. The blocking of the food and aid by Israel and subsequent famine is met with - “It’s tragic that Hamas is blocking those trucks, and confiscating all the goods, and then selling them back to Palestinians for 4x the amount” Well, friend, then why tf are the trucks just sitting there at the border that the IDF controls without going inside Gaza?! I wish I could vote there. My government, the Dutch one, puts me in the same situation. I am living in a country with a consistent row of hypocritical right wing governments. The new government will consist of 4 parties. One is the one who has been causing all sorts of damage for years and at last got clobbered for it in the last elections. I’m with you both… My heart goes out to every ordinary person in the UK these days - and elsewhere, for what it’s worth. These are not “issues “, but indeed an existential holistic crisis of modernity itself - and our misguided beliefs in, and naturalisation of its ‘values’. Intuitively we sense this, probably like people did towards the end of medieval times. I wish you the best, and for people - voters - to just observe, understand, sense and critique. It is people like Roger Waters, Andrew Fiinstein and Jeremy Corbyn who will be remembered favourably and the likes of `The Snake` Starmer, can`t bring myself to cal him Keir, a person that could never be trusted, a bare faced liar, who we will want to quickly forget. Britain has a lot to answer for with the Middle East. From the early 1900s we were involved in the partition of land and our politicians at the time didn’t keep their promises or agreements. This went on for 50 years or so and both Arabs and Jews suffered .

I would love to know what Roger thinks about what Hamas did in October, killing entire families and posting it on their social media so their relatives could see what they did. No-one on the left has anything to say about what Hamas did and showing it to the world so proudly.
