Enjoying this all as always, Rick. I had no idea how gear drives were set up until watching this. Now, I do - have a small idea how, that is. 🙂 - Ed on the Ridge

Hi again. So are your head studs 7/16 or 1/2. Mine are 7/16 and just made a stud like yours to see if I can have them made. An is your block made so you can have the inner studs sill on the heads and studs installed to pull the head off. Like it should be. If they make a aftermarket block should have made it so you can actually take it apart without removing studs. More questions for you. Lol

Call Ray Barton and tell him to send you head studs for a KB. He has them. The inner head studs are stock Hemi. KB blocks have always been made to take off the heads without taking out the studs. You couldn’t run Top Fuel without it.

Rick, would you recommend a gear drive on a street engine? I have a Milodon for my 535 Hemi, the builder says they experience too much wear on the street.

A lot of people have ran them on the street but I've never heard of them having a wear problem. I ran a Pete Jackson for a while. There are millions of gears running on the highways. Well, probably billions. My brothers airplane engine has 90 gears in it. The Milodon gear drive has big straight cut gears in it, I would run it. There is grinding to do under the cover before you install it though. If your engine is built already you really can't put it on.

I am curious as to how much noise the gear drive will make..Thanks

I love that sound. I should have it running next week. We will see what it sounds like.
