Hello. I have NO idea what you're doing, but I have just spent the last 22 minutes mesmerized by you. I have never seen anyone teaching something so... well..., anything, with a constant huge smile on their face. Dig it!! Thanks, Keith.

Really love the content Keith! For awhile in my studies thusfar, I found myself "brute forcing" some of these concepts, by which i mean memorizing but not understanding them. After watching your videos on a few of these topics (including subnetting of course) it feels effortless. Moreover, many other content creators ive watched are difficult to pay attention to for long periods of time, but your teaching style makes it easy to stay engaged. Thank you!

Keith I made a latter decision in life to make the CCNA journey, having dabbled in apk debug, python, html but that stuff got boring but I LOVE networking and security. I want to know everything ground up networking and see where that takes me. You are a GREAT person and you are doing a very good thing for us! Please make more videos I think there a greater market for it now days! Bless you brother!

Hi Keith, as usual excellent content delivered in a totally understandable way. Except.....OSPF :P You mention it in almost all of your Subent Saturday vids, which i've watched in order, but i don't know what it is. Should i have watched something else on OSPF prior to subnet saturdays? Many thanks and keep up the brilliant work.
@KeithBarker3 жыл бұрын
Thanks for the info! Many students study OSPF before they get into IP subnetting. After you study OSPF, you can revisit those concepts as they relate to OSPF. Sorry for any confusion there. Happy studies Kevin!

@keithbarker could you please share the blueprint for Ccna enterprise exam. I am planning to give my exam in July. It will be a huge help for me.

In OSPF you can only advertize the subnets that are connected to you(router)?? So a router can not summarized a route that it learned about from the other routers, correct?? When sumurizing routes, the subnets has to be connected to the router interface(s).
@KeithBarker4 жыл бұрын
Thank you for the question Silvio Menezes. An ABR (Area Border Router) can summarize any of the routes, between area. An ASBR (Autonomous System Boundry Router) that connects OSPF and non-OSPF areas can summarize at that point. No summarization within an area with OSPF. Let me know if that helps, and happy studies.

What if you tuned auto-summary on for R4? Would it do something similar?
@KeithBarker4 жыл бұрын
Thank you Steven for the question. EIGRP performs an auto-summarization (if the feature is on) each time it crosses a border between two different major networks. Because we are using the 10. major network network everywhere, in this topology it would not auto-summarize. Here is a link for more detail: www.cisco.com/c/en/us/support/docs/ip/enhanced-interior-gateway-routing-protocol-eigrp/16406-eigrp-toc.html#anc27 Thanks again for watching, and for the question.

Could you show us an example or topology where we use multiple areas and do summerization.?

Thank you Prashant Malik. Feel free to join my Discord sever. Lots of people there helping each other out. Each Saturday at 10am Pacific I hold my "Office Hour" where learners can ask questions about the topics they are studying. Mostly focusing on Cisco CCNA 200-301 topics. Feel free to join us there live if you are available. Here is the link ogit.online/Join_OGIT_on_Discord Thanks again Prashant Malik!

The last time I took a Cisco exam you could only move forward on the questions and you could not go back and review or change your answer(s). Is it still the case for the new test??
@KeithBarker4 жыл бұрын
Thank you for the question Silvio. Yes, same now. No simulations though, so that will help with time management.

Hi Keith! i was watching this Subnetting PL and learning without any issues but on this video i am a bit lost. Im not familiar with administrative distances. Should i need to watch a different video first?
@KeithBarker4 жыл бұрын
Thank you for the question wally19. If two different routing protocols (both running on the same router) are presenting a route, the routing protocol that has the lowest AD (like golf) wins, and that route gets installed. Not too critical regarding the topic of subnetting, and more on AD in other videos. happy studies, and thanks for watching.

Hey Keith, Maybe i missed this in the video somewhere but what is the purpose of a "catch all wildcard" aka network 0.0.0.0 255.255.255.255 ?
@KeithBarker4 жыл бұрын
Thank you for the question Will. The wild card bits of 255.255.255.255 mean that the corresponding IP address can be anything, and it will be a match.

Hi Keith - What if you had four routes you wanted to perform Eigrp auto summarisation they are A. 10.0.64.0 B. 10.0.65.0 C. 10.0.66.0 D. 10.0.67.0 for these I made the auto summarisation to be 10.0.0.0/22 or is it 10.0.0.0/17?
@KeithBarker4 жыл бұрын
Thank you for the question Navin Patel. How about: 10.0.64.0/22 for the most exact summary. 10.0.0.0/17 is summarizes those 4, and a whole lot more.

i applied that summary address command on my router and i got a /21 mask when i did a show ip route
