Greetings from Brooklyn, New York. Your video is a testament to fine woodworking. You have an array of tools, clamps, and squares that are top notch. I’ve seen many woodworking and diy videos but you take a lot of pride in your craftsmanship. Thumbs way up. Stay safe and be well.

Was the reason for plywood with the edge banding vs hardwood panels for cost, wood stability, a little bit of both? Looks awesome, and love the design/execution, was just curious on that.
@KeithJohnsonCustomWoodworking4 жыл бұрын
Yes and yes! LOL. Cost, wood stability and also weight. It would have been incredibly heavy if made of 1-1/2" thick solid white oak. There also would have been more labor involved gluing up and surfacing a bunch of panels, which makes it more costly. Sometimes I have to change my mindset from a furniture maker to a cabinet maker to produce an even better product and more cost effective product. I know some people stick their nose up at plywood, but high quality plywood is great to work with. And what people forget, is it's real WOOD! It's not particle board. Thanks for watching and the comment! 🙏👊

This piece as built from white oak veneer plywood and solid white oak lumber. The finish applied is an oil/wax blend and is a wood protectorate and results in a durable, water-resistant finish, all while keeping the natural look and feel of the wood.
