Jeep Liberty No Heat Problem

Way back I had an AMC with a 258 - inline 6 . Ran warm but didn't overheat . Put oversize radiator , flex fan , flush and back flush . Knocked out some freeze out plugs and flushed the block . There was sand and mud in there from the casting !

Better every time! Good use of the flir camera. That little thing has more value than I realized. Nice intro and sound! A little polishing on the editing side to cut out transitions and redundant info would bring your videos more value. It also would have been great to have the resolution in the same video so I’m not left with a cliff hanger...unless that’s the intent.. “Resolution coming! Same Bat time.....” Keep those vids coming!

Actually I recorded the resolution on my phone with the Flir, but my editing software did not like the frame rate, so i'm trying to work that out. I am currently trying to just pump out as much content as possible, so the editing quality is definitely not the best, but be patient with me, it will get there quick.

This is a common problem with these Jeeps. I’m replacing the heater core in my daughters 2012 and it’s a nightmare to work on. I hate engineers that never consider how to work or service something after it’s been installed.

My issue is cold heat on driver’s vents (on all driver side vents: defrost, front & foot). Passenger side is warmer but still not normal. Everything else works fine, blend door actuators seem fine, coolant level good, car doesn’t overheat, put in new cabin air filters. $1000 to change heater core 😩 Flushing it makes it better for a little bit then back to cool. Going to try to flush it better & see if that fixes it 🤞🏼

update? same issue 2012 liberty . changed both driver actuators and all things under passenger side seem normal

Same, any update? I changed my heater core and have the same issue now 08 liberty. Such bs, like can someone figure it out already, I have to learn everything about my car myself to avoid stepwise failures by mechanics

I actually reached out to the mechanic today since it’s starting to be cold in the mornings. $1000 to change the heater core but now I don’t know if I should since it didn’t work for you! Ugh so frustrating.

I'm having a similar problem. '09 liberty. Heat/ac for days at passenger door but almost nothing at driver door. Seems to be a lower blowing speed at driver door though so it may be a different issue. Not sure.

Most likely the Blend Door actuator... Lots of info on Google and KZbin... I know its old post but hopefully you fixed the issue

Yea I actually reached under my dash and wiggled the gear where the actuator is. I felt it close and open as I turned the knob. So I got it working again.

Common problem with these Liberty's caused from sand casting material left in the engine from chrysler. Let your customer know they can join the class action lawsuit against chrysler. Google it.

I have a 09 Dodge Nitro....I have no heat either. This is the second time this has happened in 6 years. Fuck Jeep and fuck Dodge. I'll never buy another Dodge as long as I live. I have never had so many problems with a vehicle. I changed all 3 ignition coils, water pump, radiator, rear diff, driver side window control and the heater. I can not believe they were allowed to sell those shit boxes.

Same problem with a 2012 liberty. I replaced the actuators & it didnt help. I think its an issue with the manufacturer. They should recall whatever's wrong with them & fix them free of charge at the dealership.

@@MicahHTX Yep, I've had it flushed more than once by 2 different shops. One shop even said I had a cracked block, which was total BS. They initially said they fixed the heating issue. It wasn't fixed. I took it back and in 24 hours they said I had a cracked block. At this point, I have no idea. I can turn the heat on and it's hot for about 15-20 seconds, just enough to defrost the windshield, then goes cold. SUCKS by THANKS

@@13aglasiaer sounds more like a water pump in your scenario. If you have more heat when accelerating or higher RPM, I lean towards pump.

@Christopher Polzin The coolant is rated for 5 years or 150,000 miles, as it ages the corrosion inhibitors will start to drop out of suspension and clump with any minerals in the water, as the corrosion inhibitors clump they do not inhibit corrosion so more minerals from the metals in the engine will get into the coolant. This is a normal lifespan of Hybrid OAT. Also the use of plain tap water is not recommended as it will decrease the life span of the coolant as well, due to the added minerals in the water, only distilled water is recommended by most manufacturers.
